Oh!!! How wonderful things I have read here!!! Thanks!!! All those things can combine together to give us an idea of what that certainly rare event is!!!

Kaychuani what you have said is the base, the place where we have to start to understand what love is right there God Himself

I agree with Remp, love is not a feeling, it includes feelings but it is higher, above, superior than feelings. Feelings are submitted to love.

Love that way to live never dies; otherwise, it was never love, but just emotions and desires.

Love is perfection, because God is Love

The problem we face is that we are under imperfection we are imprisoned in this flesh for the moment, with its pride, selfishness, attention to physical appearance, impatience, etc that makes it harder for us to understand and practice that rare wonder

I want so much to understand it!!!! To have it!!!! To give it!!!! As much as all of you!!!!

I see it so easy and so difficult!!!!

But, we have been called to love, it is a commandment coming from the Perfect One we are in the duty of trying and doing our best to do it and live it until we come back to Him.

It is easier loving our kids, our parents, our siblings, friends. Because we live for them receiving or not something back I think that in the case of the couple husband/wife it is more difficult because:

- The two sides are mandatory in order to be a couple and it is so hard putting our pride away to admit that we are not right! on the other hand, it is so frustrating when we have the reason and we are not considered as correct!

- The physical attraction is included in the marriage, and here we come with the eternal problems of the flesh The eyes of men which are so easily distracted and The womens need of attention and romance which make us being so frustrated, etc, etc, etc.. and etc, etc, etc.

Yes, Arch many things have to fall into place.

But God makes no mistakes, He commands us to love it means do what He does that is love doing what He does... we have to

To borrow a line from Josh Turner, I might not know what love is, but I sure know what it ain't.

When I think of God's love, I think of his promise that he will never leave me and how I don't have to worry about him breaking that promise. I'd like to think that romantic love is something like having someone's back, not matter what, and them not having to worry about me leaving them.

True Love is found in the Bible. All through this book of God! For now i referr to the book of Colossians 3:1 through 23......these choice words descripe it best to me. Holy, Beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering, forbearing one another, forgiving one another, and to "put on CHARITY(LOVE), which is the bond(glue) of PERFECTNESS! Then it talks of Husband and Wife, to submit to God , and to each other as it will be Pleasing to the Lord!! Husbands are Commanded to Love your wives, as Christ so love the Church... If this is a Christian man then his eyes, need not to be distracted by the worldly flesh, and he that is Matured in the Lord will not be distracted. And the woman too, will seek to honor her husband and to Love him only with a "Perfect Heart"!!!!Now, if you are not a Christian, and you do not belong to Gods family, then sadly these wonderful things and words will not apply to you...Only ask, ASK GOD to open your heart and eyes to his perfect Love for us, then we will see, his perfect Love that we can and should have ONE FOR ANOTHER, Husband and Wife, till the end..amen

I did a word study once on "love" in the Webster's 1828 dictionary. This is what I came away with:

Love is seeing beauty and value in a thing, so much so that you are motivated even compelled to express to the object the appreciation you feel.

We were dead in our sin, but God saw us as beautiful and valuable, so much so that He was motivated to send His Son to express His Love towards us and redeem us out of bondage and give us life.

A man sees beauty and value in a woman and is motivated to touch her (body, soul and spirit) to express his appreciation. If he touches her in the right manner she will see the beauty and value in him and be motivated to respond...and this should continue for a lifetime. When we stop valuing one another is when the love dies.
