Hello,

what are the advantages or disadvantages of such a relationship?

I guess most people prefer to date someone near them so they can meet often... :applause:but of course no one choose who to fall in love with but first it need to be found.

so do you check profile of someone in another country?

Some distance can be good especially for those of us who tend to fall in love quickly just for the mere joy of it. It can force the balance of priorities while keeping the romantic feelings in their place and allow the time necessary for contemplation & healthy personal life/growth individually.

However, since men are visual -I suppose some may have a hard time connecting emotionally with someone they cannot experience up-close. And -I don't believe you can really know someone until you can witness the activation of solid character by real-life circumstances.

Personally, I wouldn't hava problem being faithful to a man I needed to be separated from for a period of time as necessary. I'm not clingy/needy. But-my love languages are quality time and acts of service and you can't do that long-distance, so if there were problems or differences between us -he would definitely feel exasperated with hopelessness not able to make me feel loved and wanted by him if he had to be so far away. For me, if I got to know him up front and knew him well by experience up-close, I wouldn't feel threatened by the distance. But-getting to know someone from a distance (internet, mail, phone) -wouldn't work. There isn't enuf personal evidence to justify the connection to me. Too much room for faking & trying to hard & easy offense.

Even I can't be completely all my wonderful self in word alone. Love ought to be not in word only, but in deed and in truth. (thats in the Bible somewhere -really) In person, I know I'm more impressive than on paper. It really is superficial & even I am persuaded by words -but, gotta keep in perspective that you don't really know someone until you REALLY KNOW someone.

BUT - if God duz it - it can be done ANY WAY HE CHOOSES AND IT'S RIGHT. HE reserves the right to change everything at any time for whatever purpose He chooses & IT IS GOOD! Bless His name!!

I've personally never been in a long-distance relationship, but I am not exactly opposed to the idea either... if it was with the right person and for a predetermined amount of time. I guess it would just depend on the person and the circumstances. I do believe that God can bring that right person to you by any means and no matter the distance.
