Posted : 5 Feb, 2010 10:20 AM First of all, may the Lord bless you for your patience and endurance, while you "weed through" all the potential mates posted on this website! Perhaps you come from a place where you recently lost your love one or have just experienced a broken relationship...most of us could probably relate - it is a devestating scenario...and as we have taken time to heal, forgive (if needed), grow from the loss or breakup, and get back on track - with the Lord taking the lead in finding the next (and hopefully, last) love of our life - may I recommend that you consider the following? * In your profile, be really specific about your walk with the Lord and seek someone who is at that same level and interest as you are. * Eliminate all those: - who only seem fixated on your looks, who only bring up their "romantic" interests and fantasies about you, - who see you as their type of "relationship savior", - who want to continue in any/all activities and interests that you really don't care about or want to participate in, - who are looking to add your income to support their hobbies, interests or laziness, - who are immediately contentious or put you on the defense, - who want to lure you away to their private IM or want your private email address, phone number, etc., - who suddenly or eventually express interest in thoughts or activities that are not at all Godly - that don't seem to match up with their claims on their profiles, - who always seem to check out your pictures on your profile page but NEVER correspond. While there are likely other reasons not listed here for eliminating certain people who show an interest in you, those noted above will hopefully help you to skip over the ones who would otherwise waste your time and energy in your search. Being equally yoked, and being matched up with the type of person that the Lord choose for you, will perhaps take a little extra time in your search, but it will be worth it...just remember to be true to yourself, do not compromise your standards, and surrender any "possible mates" over to the Lord first, before making a final decision. The Lord WILL help you - He will speak to your heart...so listen for His voice, and look for His leading...and let Him do the weeding. God bless you! Post Reply
