I still haven't seen any answer on how one can KNOW, 100%, that they are elected!

There is a certain member here who continues to try to play "gotcha" with a few of the other members. She has presumed in her own mind that we don't have an answer to her question and have therefore been dodging it. So, she continues to hammer on it as a means to discredit us and our faith.

"I still haven't seen any answer on how one can KNOW, 100%, that they are elected..........."

Here is your answer. It is found throughout the Word. It's not a deep mystery. We give diligence to make your calling and ELECTION sure. The Christ in us in our hope of glory. We do not rely upon ourselves, some sinner's prayer we prayed years ago, opening the door of our heart's when Jesus knocked, accepting Christ, calling upon his name once, a trip down the church aisle, etc. etc.

Phil 2:12

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

2Cor 13:5

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

2 Peter 1: 3-10

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.

I will not be offering any further comments as these Scriptures speak for themselves.

Furthermore and for the record, I believe that this question has already been satisfactorily answered multiple times by another member using different Scriptures.

I've always been under the impression that the bible says we can't know for sure if we're elected. For instance, the parable of the 10 virgins. All of the 10 women are virgins, all have oil and lighted lamps, this is not referring to the worldly who "commit adultery" and follow their own lusts. All the virgins had every appearance and desire to be in the "wedding feast" and all of them "fell asleep", even the wise virgins. I think this is very important to note, that all the women were virgins and had the oil and the lamps, they were exactly the same except for their preparedness in having extra oil. There are a lot of similar parables that portray the same story. The parable of the talents, the parable of the wedding feast, the parable of the sower. Many of the parables have examples of someone who is a trusted servant, or had a duty from God, or was directly called by God, or had the influence of the Word of Truth in their lives for a time, but fell away due to unfaithfulness or laziness or cares of this world. I'm of the opinion that you cannot know for sure that you are "elected" until you're staring at the Lord at His coming with the words "I have run the race, I have kept the faith" on your tongue. If in that next moment, Jesus looks at you and says "Thou faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord", only then will we know if our fruits were worthy. I'm sure the servant who buried his talent thought that he would be at least met with apathy, but he was cast out. I'm sure the 5 foolish virgins thought that if they ran and got more oil they would be let into the feast, but the groom didn't recognize them. My point is, it was at the end, at the "judgment", when the Lord of the country returned or the Bridegroom showed up, that the confirmation was given to the servants as to whether or not they had been faithful. The books aren't opened until the judgment and we're not allowed to read them. I think it's presumption to say we can know the mind of God, especially if we believe in the kind of sovereign God that will do whatever He pleases. Perhaps we're only allowed to think we're "elected" for a while "for His glory", and then we'll be cut off like the Israelites, for some greater purpose?

The blessed assurance we have is that Christ died for the ungodly, and that if we truly bear the fruits of a heart changed by that Sacrifice, we will be saved through faith in the same grace that provided the Sacrifice. God is looking at "the heart" to determine our faithfulness, and He's the only one who can really see it.

Yes it is biblical to know you are in the family of God but any one would be impossible to make an doctrine that excludes anyone from being unable to respond to the word of God, and answer the call to join the family of God.

I'm not trying to trick anyone on the question asked. I am just trying to understand how someone would just know they are elected.

It sounds like you don't know if you're elected or not. Either you assume you are, hope you are, or guess you are.

I am thankful the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ my Lord...I have assurance of salvation through His shed blood.

Can you prove to me that God exists, or show me evidence that you are saved? I just mean to say that all we have is hope and faith, and I think God did it that way on purpose. I don't think that we can know we are saved and just lock it in until Jesus shows up.

"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."

"And you, son of man, say to your fellow citizens, 'The righteousness of a righteous man will not deliver him in the day of his transgression, and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he will not stumble because of it in the day when he turns from his wickedness; whereas a righteous man will not be able to live by his righteousness on the day when he commits sin.'

Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

v9 That if thou shalt CONFESS with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou SHALT be SAVED.

v10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

v11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

v12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto ALL that call upon him.

v13 For WHOSOEVER shall CALL upon the name of the Lord SHALL be SAVED.

*******

The Bible doesn't say might be saved; if you do this, this and this you might be saved. The Bible says SHALL.

*******

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the GIFT of God is ETERNAL LIFE.
