God says: He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world. "Free willers" say: nope i chosePosted : 19 Apr, 2012 08:32 AM>Rightly ( /// ) dividing the WORD hereJesus taught both Election (GOD giveth) and Freewill ( him that cometh) and there is no Question about it. It is Christ Jesus own Spoken Word and needs not mans or womenss special intilectual carnal interpretationHe says what He saysplain and Simplewritten in RED !!!< |

God says: He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world. "Free willers" say: nope i chosePosted : 19 Apr, 2012 08:38 AMJust a small correction to the reformed viewpoint again...We do believe that people come and believe. However we believe that it is God who brings this forth, not man. The verses you broke down do NOT make this impossible. Again, a good thing to ask oneself here is does the "giving" or "coming" occur first |

God says: He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world. "Free willers" say: nope i chosePosted : 21 Apr, 2012 07:51 PMI see a lot of judgment and legalism in a lot of these posts. First of all the foundation of Christianity falls on the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We must believe His atonement and that he was fully man and fully God. To judge people like godsgirl23 and others because they disagree with you and say they do not know Scripture is judgmental. I've seen worse, like the preachers on TV who say a whole lot worse things. God is the judge. Is it important to know Scripture and study it? Yes, but will we fully understand Scripture or God no and if you say you do then it is not God. |

God says: He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world. "Free willers" say: nope i chosePosted : 22 Apr, 2012 02:50 PM35 Then Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day |

God says: He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world. "Free willers" say: nope i chosePosted : 22 Apr, 2012 04:03 PMI don't agree with everything she says but I do agree we should condense these topics into one thread if we are ever going to have any meaningful discussion on the issue. We have both sides posting multiple thread and most of them never get replies. I believe it's an important topic but the way we handle ourselves often times turns people off to it. When we post so many threads...people might tend to think we are talking AT them. I think one thread on this topic would be beneficial where everyone can add to it. |
