Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,

10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth--in Him.

11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,

12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.

13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Gods Election & mans/womens Freewill

What does the Scripture say and What did Jesus (the Word) teach about this ???

Lets take a look at some scripture some people use to lever others into Taking SidesIts found in ~

John 6:37-41 (KJV)

37 All that the Father (giveth me shall come to me;) /// (and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.)

*** Rightly ( /// ) dividing the WORD hereJesus taught both Election (GOD giveth) and Freewill ( him that cometh) and there is no Question about it. It is Christ Jesus own Spoken Word and needs not mans or womenss special intilectual carnal interpretationHe says what He saysplain and Simplewritten in RED !!!

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

*** Christ Jesus came Doing the Will of the Fatherand one would do well to askwhat is the Will of the Father as Jesus answered the questions put to Him to Teach them ???

39 [[[ And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, ( that of all which he hath given me ) I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. ]]]

*** GODs Election( all which he (GOD) hath given to Jesus)No doubt about it !!!

40 [[[ And this is the will of him that sent me, ( that every one which ( seeth ) the Son, and ( believeth ) on him, may have everlasting life: ) and I will raise him up at the last day. ]]]

*** Freewill Choice of man / women( everyone which seeth and believeth )No doubt about it !!!

41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

*** Notice here that the Jews murmured and didnt even hear what HE ~ Jesus said to themAll they heard and focused on was what He said in a previous verse ~

35 And Jesus said unto them, ((( I am the bread of life: ))) [[[ he that cometh to me ]]] shall never hunger; [[[ and he that believeth on me ]]] shall never thirst.

*** Cant come to something or someone with out yet hearing about the Gospeland Believing in itJust meditate on it for bit and maybe some peoples eyes will be openedplusthe Peeps Jesus was talking toThey totally missed the [[[ cometh & believeth ]]]Do you see it here ?the Jews not hearing the WORD of Truth which is Christ Jesus standing right in front of themand it continues todaywith many peopleOnly seeinghearing and believing what they want to instead of seeing and believing the TruthSpokenWrittenRevealed by Christ Jesus*

HoweverPraise GOD that many understand and believe His WORD and except it gladlywith No Doubt in their heartNo Debate neededOnly desiring His Truth of it !!!And the Truth shall set you free !!!

Be Blessed Yalland dont let no one tell ya only Election or only Freewill is rightBoth are taught by GOD~Christ Jesus~HolySpiritand that is the Truth.Luv Yallxo

P.S.wont be back to comment on commentsthe Word speaks for its self

From the verse, what came first? The giving or the coming?

Just a small correction to the reformed viewpoint again...We do believe that people come and believe. However we believe that it is God who brings this forth, not man. The verses you broke down do NOT make this impossible. Again, a good thing to ask oneself here is does the "giving" or "coming" occur first

I see a lot of judgment and legalism in a lot of these posts. First of all the foundation of Christianity falls on the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We must believe His atonement and that he was fully man and fully God. To judge people like godsgirl23 and others because they disagree with you and say they do not know Scripture is judgmental. I've seen worse, like the preachers on TV who say a whole lot worse things. God is the judge. Is it important to know Scripture and study it? Yes, but will we fully understand Scripture or God no and if you say you do then it is not God.

To be fair, PJ is the one who claims to know all scripture.

35 Then Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day

1.According to this passage, who will come to Christ?

2.how many of these that come to Christ will he lose.

3.Will everyone come to Christ?

$.Who will Christ never drive away?

5.what is the will of the one who sent Christ?

In Christ

Thanks, tloft!

ManofGod, stop posting six million other threads on this topic. If you want to engage the topic, do it here, and use actual words and not copy pasted Scripture. Between you, PJ, and that passive aggressive woman, this whole forum is nothing but copypasta. Use your words.

I don't agree with everything she says but I do agree we should condense these topics into one thread if we are ever going to have any meaningful discussion on the issue. We have both sides posting multiple thread and most of them never get replies. I believe it's an important topic but the way we handle ourselves often times turns people off to it. When we post so many threads...people might tend to think we are talking AT them. I think one thread on this topic would be beneficial where everyone can add to it.
