What are the five solas, and what do they mean?
The five solas is a term used to designate five great foundational rallying cries of the Protestant reformers. They are as follows: Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone); Sola Gratia (Grace Alone); Sola Fide (Faith Alone); Solus Christus (Christ Alone); and Soli Deo Gloria (To God Alone Be Glory).
These five solas were developed in response to specific perversions of the truth that were taught by the corrupt Roman Catholic Church. The Roman Church taught that the foundation for faith and practice was a combination of the scriptures, sacred tradition, and the teachings of the magisterium and the pope; but the Reformers said, No, our foundation is sola scriptura. The Catholic Church taught that we are saved through a combination of God's grace, the merits that we accumulate through penance and good works, and the superfluity of merits that the saints before us accumulated; the reformers responded, sola gratia. The Catholic Church taught that we are justified by faith and the works that we produce, which the righteousness that God infuses in us through faith brings about. The reformers responded, No, we are justified by faith alone, which lays hold of the alien righteousness of Christ that God freely credits to the account of
those who believe. The Catholic Church taught that we are saved by the merits of Christ and the saints, and that we approach God through Christ, the saints, and Mary, who all pray and intercede for us. The Reformers responded, No, we are saved by the merits of Christ Alone, and we come to God through Christ Alone. The Catholic Church adhered to what Martin Luther called the theology of glory (in opposition to the theology of the cross), in which the glory for a sinner's salvation could be attributed partly to Christ, partly to Mary and the saints, and partly to the sinner himself. The reformers responded, No, the only true gospel is that which gives all glory to God alone, as is taught in the scriptures.
Today, the Catholic Church teaches the same essential perversions of truth; and much of Protestantism has seen a regress to many of the same corruptions, in many circles and denominations. It is a pressing need for Christians everywhere to reaffirm and champion anew the five solas which underlay and gave impetus to the Protestant Reformation.

Thank you Jude for proving God true.
God says people will be lead away from truth into false doctrines, if they are not studying his holy word all the time. Their hearts will be hardened to his truth.
He also says people will hate me because of him. You have proven both to be true.

Some here are completely Biblically illiterate - FACT or insult?
Some here are totally unteachable - FACT or insult?
Some here have reading comprehension skills that APPEAR to be that of a below average kindergartner. ( I even state specifically why that fact APPEARS to be so) FACT or insult?
In fact, some here are probably not Christians at all? FACT or insult?
Some here are males and some are females? FACT or insult?
Some here are divorced and some are single? FACT or insult?
Now, you may find facts to be "insulting" when they are presented in the light but nevertheless they still remain facts.

IWA, this is a really good example here in this post. I'd just ask you to go back read the discussion again, in an un-biased fashion. Don't assume tone or motivation, don't give special consideration to your "team", and apply everything in equal terms to yourself to see how well you fit your own description. And yes, they are opinions. This is not a baptist or catholic or denominational website. So, unless you want a theology war, opinions and discussion are all that can be offered. You put up your beliefs and opinions, and people comment and discuss, you'll find agreement and disagreement. If you don't want to hear the many opinions and beliefs that come to this website, then start one and discourage and/or censor any opposing views that you decide are untruthful.

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!
"Woe to you, blind guides!
"You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean"
"You snakes! You brood of vipers!
When Jesus had finished speaking, a Pharisee invited him to eat with him; so he went in and reclined at the table. But the Pharisee, noticing that Jesus did not first wash before the meal, was surprised. Then the Lord said to him, "Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. You foolish people! Did not the one who made the outside make the inside also? But give what is inside the dish to the poor, and everything will be clean for you. "Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone. "Woe to you Pharisees, because you love the most important seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces. "Woe to you, because you are like unmarked graves, which men walk over without knowing it." One of the experts in the law answered him, "Teacher, when you say these things, you INSULT us also." Jesus replied, "And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them
NOTICE: One of the experts in the law answered him, "Teacher, when you say these things, you INSULT us also." Jesus replied, "And you experts in the law, woe to you

So because you believe the insults are fact it makes it ok to Insult people ???...Is that Biblical ???
Anywho...back to the discussion...I will share to long version and follow up on my comment of the Five Solas not being Calvinism...the Five Solas are from the Protestant Reformation...not Calvin...just want to clarify that to the captive audiance...
Five Solas
The Five Solas are five Latin phrases (or slogans) that emerged from the Protestant Reformation intended to summarize the Reformers' basic theological principles in contrast to certain teachings of the Roman Catholic Church of the day. "Sola" is Latin meaning "alone" or "only" and the corresponding phrases are:
 Sola Fide, by faith alone.
 Sola Scriptura, by Scripture alone.
 Solus Christus, through Christ alone.
 Sola Gratia, by grace alone.
Soli Deo Gloria, glory to God alone.
These phrases may be found individually expressed in the various writings of the 16th century Reformers, either explicitly or implicitly, but they are not found presented as a list per se. It is most likely the list of Solas came about later.
Summary teachings
The following summary of the Five Solas is adapted from the modern restatement in The Cambridge Declaration of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals (1996):
Faith alone (Sola Fide)
Justification is by grace alone through faith alone because of Christ alone. In justification Christ's righteousness is imputed to us as the only possible satisfaction of God's perfect justice. Our justification does not rest on any merit to be found in us, nor upon the grounds of an infusion of Christ's righteousness in us, nor that an institution claiming to be a church that denies or condemns sola fide can be recognized as a legitimate church.
Scripture alone (Sola Scriptura)
The inerrant Scripture (the Bible) is the sole source of written divine revelation, which alone can bind the conscience. The Bible alone teaches all that is necessary for our salvation from sin and is the standard by which all Christian behavior must be measured. It is denied that any creed, council or individual may bind a Christian's conscience, that the Holy Spirit speaks independently of or contrary to what is set forth in the Bible, or that personal spiritual experience can ever be a vehicle of revelation.
Christ alone (Solus Christus)
Our salvation is accomplished by the mediatorial work of the historical Christ alone. His sinless life and substitutionary atonement alone are sufficient for our justification and reconciliation to the Father. It is denied that the gospel is preached if Christ's substitutionary work is not declared and faith in Christ and his work is not solicited.
Grace alone (Sola Gratia)
In salvation we are rescued from God's wrath by his grace alone. It is the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit that brings us to Christ by releasing us from our bondage to sin and raising us from spiritual death to spiritual life. It is denied that salvation is in any sense a human work. Human methods, techniques or strategies by themselves cannot accomplish this transformation. Faith is not produced by our unregenerated human nature.
Glory to God alone (Soli Deo Gloria)
It is affirmed that because salvation is of God and has been accomplished by God, it is for God's glory and that we must glorify him always. We must live our entire lives before the face of God, under the authority of God and for his glory alone. It is denied that we can properly glorify God if our worship is confused with entertainment, if we neglect either Law or Gospel in our preaching, or if self-improvement, self-esteem or self- fulfillment are allowed to become alternatives to the gospel.

Is that Biblical ??? - Seems so. (see my response above)
Some here are completely Biblically illiterate - "For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat"
Some here are totally unteachable- " Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid." - "Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart."

"That same mini "mob" will be the ones who eventually cry foul to the moderation team when they have been thoroughly exposed and totally humiliated for their own bad behaviors and their own false teaching. They are the group who hide behind all of the outward shows of "love and xo's" while inwardly they are ravening wolves seeking to devour by whatever means necessary those who earnestly contend for the Biblical faith."
I have proactively reported you to the moderation staff here, GodsJude. Your continual attempt to "ban" everyone with whom you disagree is just plain disgusting.
