I hope you are prepared for another chance to test your understanding of the Word of GOD and how to translate the Word of GOD into another language.
I will not translate this Section of the Word of GOD, as it is too much fun having the Holy Spirit REVEAL to us what He has placed within the Scriptures.
This section of the Word of GOD has been used to beat the sheep into believing they need to be have WORKS constantly or they do not have faith that is placing a burden upon the people which ABBA never intended for His people to carry.
And to the 2 female Greek scholars which always criticize, take your time translating this Scripture, I do not want you hurting yourselves by studying too hard.
Parallel Verses
James 2:14-17
NASB
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, Go in peace; keep warm and well fed, but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
ESV
14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, Go in peace, be warmed and filled, without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
KJV
14What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be [ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what [doth it] profit? 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
American Standard
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, if a man say he hath faith, but have not works? can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked and in lack of daily food, 16 and one of you say unto them, Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; and yet ye give them not the things needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself.
Young's literal translation
14What [is] the profit, my brethren, if faith, any one may speak of having, and works he may not have? is that faith able to save him? 15and if a brother or sister may be naked, and may be destitute of the daily food, 16and any one of you may say to them, Depart ye in peace, be warmed, and be filled, and may not give to them the things needful for the body, what [is] the profit? 17so also the faith, if it may not have works, is dead by itself.
These are just a few of the many translations which have mistranslated James 2:14-17.
Had the cemetery students any integrity and concern for the Authenticity and accuracy of translating the Scriptures, they would have questioned those teaching them the Greek and Hebrew Scriptures, and how they were taught to translate .
There is nothing wrong with admitting the English translations have errors, what is wrong is that the pastors which know about these errors and do not tell the people, then pride is in the camp, and must be dealt with.
I see that you have made the same mistake az most folks do, tbey quit, post, recite and profess James, as though it is the Word of GOD, when in reality it is the translation of man, which really is wrong. Please translate that Scripture, as those which call themselves 'church' leaders to work with you to transalte the Word, you will find that you have been qouting,reciting, professing that which GOD Almighty had not said,but we are too lazy in America to translate, or too afraid to admit that we have not been beliving the Word of GOD.
Also,LOVE is not a WORK, please.check your understanding of the.Scriptures, this goes for you too Carl, as you agreed with the dooger fan.
Firstly, I actually do also consider Love to be a work, a very good one indeed. But I really think these discussions of semantics are ones which only a person who is here to make arguments would wish to pursue.
I would only really wish to discuss one thing with you my Brother, why do you not consider yourself to be surrendered to Christ? If you are not surrendered to Christ, how can you call yourself a Christian? That is a real issue and one which concerns your very soul. Please surrender to the one that matters more than you or any of your translations, Jesus.
Just a question my Brother Shola wishes me to ask, do you believe in the 'literal' death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and that he 'literally' lives now?
Of course you need to completely surrender yourself to Jesus.
Mt 16:24,25
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it."
=============================
That verse doesn't say surrender. It says follow. By the way. His name isn't Jesus. It's Yahshua. Yashua means YHWH is salvation, or YHWH saves. Yahshua was saved; because he surrendered to the will of his God and your God, his father, and your father, YHWH.
============================
"Trust in the [YHWH] with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

I went back to the Hebrew to correct your mistranslated scripture.
Carl: Mt 16:24,25.. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it."
=============================
Hark: That verse doesn't say surrender. It says follow. By the way. His name isn't Jesus. It's Yahshua. Yashua means YHWH is salvation, or YHWH saves. Yahshua was saved; because he surrendered to the will of his God and your God, his father, and your father, YHWH.

I'm confused, somebody help me out here... Hark, if this verse speaks nothing about SURRENDERING, please explain to me what the word FOLLOW mean? better yet, explain what this passage means when Jesus says these things: Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it."..just what does all this mean?
BTW as I told George, it doesn't matter what language you called His name, His name is still JESUS, and since you don't speak Hebrew or Greek and I take it your speak English then why not call Him by His English name, God sin't impressed by which name you call Him, just as long as you can call Him YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR! You get no great rewards in heaven for calling Jesus by His Hebrew name or English name, so what's UP with all this foolishness! ... whatever word or name for Jesus that is found in the Hebrew or Greek you can find the same word meaning in the English, it ALL MEANS THE SAME AND IDENTIFIES JESUS AS TO WHO HE IS BY HIS TITLE AND NAME...!
Nevertheless, please explain the meaning of what Jesus is saying in Matthew 16:24-25:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." ...just what is Jesus saying here?
Maybe AFTER you explain what Jesus is speaking about in this passage you will also be able to define the operative words in this passage that makes it alive... sooo, how do you define the words "DENY" AND THE WORD "FOLLOW?"?
"I'm confused, somebody help me out here... Hark, if this verse speaks nothing about SURRENDERING, please explain to me what the word FOLLOW mean? "

follow
/ˈflō/
verb
1. go or come after (a person or thing proceeding ahead); move or travel behind "she went back into the house, and Ben followed her" synonyms: come behind, come after, go behind, go after, walk behind, ... moreantonyms: lead, lead
2. come after in time or order "the six years that followed his restoration"
Hark, My point to you IS, EXPLAIN THE MEANING OF THE PASSAGE JESUS SPOKE, WHAT DOES JESUS MEANS WHEN HE SAID DENY YOURSELF AND FOLLOW HIM? Thanks :glow:
"BTW as I told George, it doesn't matter what language you called His name, His name is still JESUS, and since you don't speak Hebrew or Greek and I take it your speak English then why not call Him by His English name."
==================================
Nonsense. "Jesus" Is a name that was created by the Catholic church, to bring glory to pagan gods.
Our messiah's English name is Yahshua.
What is Mahatma Gandhi's name in English?
I find it interesting that several other men of the Bible carried the same name.
Throughout the Bible all of these men were called Joshua, in the anti-Semitic, Hellenized translations , except in the case of our messiah.
ONCE AGAIN... Hark, My point to you IS, EXPLAIN THE MEANING OF THE PASSAGE JESUS SPOKE, WHAT DOES JESUS MEAN WHEN HE SAID "DENY YOURSELF AND FOLLOW HIM?" Thanks
JESUS IS STILL JESUS TO ME! Jesus in the Greek is IESOUS, AND MEANS SAVIOR, He has many names and titles, and calling Him Jeshua, Jehoshus, Joshhua or Jehovah, Messiah or Adhonal, Yahweh or whatever you call Him in the Greek or Hebrew or German, or Aramaic or Spanish, this has nothing to do with the question I asked of you.
I see you and George tend to have this practice of AVOIDANCE down pat. The definition of avoidance is the process of staying away from something or someone.
EXAMPLE OF AVOIDANCE: Not answering the phone to stay away from someone; or not answering a question and redirecting to another subject or something else to prevent answering a question asked of you... EXPLAIN THE VERSES!
You have a peculiar way of humbly asking to be educated.
Simply:
Yahshua, the man, showed us that it is possible to live without breaking Yahweh's law. He set the example that Yahweh's children are to live by. This is what he means by follow. Remember: The gate is narrow.
I pray that my father gives me the strength to let my ego die; that his will be done in me.
In the sincerest love of Jesus Christ our Saviour.
You clearly have another Gospel Hark and George (Gal 1:6-7), and there's really little point trying to discuss theology with either of you because you seem to think all translations of the Word are wrong, except yours, despite the fact that all other Christians (actually there are likely others like you as well, but I've not heard or seen of them before) accept that at least the KJV is a divinely inspired translation.
You also both seem to think that the only conversation we have with God is through his word, since otherwise why would God not have told any of us other Christians that we have the Gospel completely wrong through his Holy Spirit. You are both deluded, perhaps even possesed of some familiar spirits.
In all honesty I really think it's time for both of you to just leave, or stop posting, I've certainly lost patience God forgive me, and won't converse with you any longer. Though I will say, if you post your heresy as new topics I will have to post at least one correction if I feel it's important enough, merely for the edification of others who might be led astray by your false teachings.
