Mal. 1:3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

This verses teaches that God hated?

A. Esau

B. Malachi

C. I don't care what the verse says, it's just your interpretation - "GOD LOVES EVERYBODY" See John 3:16

D. I believe in Yashua HaMashiach. :applause: Why don't you preach the Gospel instead? See John 3:15-17 ... xo Oh.. and Calvin killed Servetus...Go figer that one Martha. :toomuch:

E. Btw the way, there is NO hate in love. In otherwords you believe Love, hates when it wants to. Reformed theology is man-made.

F. I just don't think God works like that. God changes his mind based on people's repentance. :peace::peace:

G. I just don't really know - this verse is so confusing.

You do understand the concept of a bible writer quoting various portions of the bible though, right? A quote from Genesis is not the same quote that is from Malachi. And from both instances, where God is talking prophetically, Paul is talking corporately about the children of Israel and the children of Esau, and comparing them to the children of the promise. But either way, claiming this as support should actually invalidate the claims of predestination for salvation, since Israel was "elected" yet cut off because of unbelief, and the gentiles grafted into the election because they did believe.

Romans 9, 10

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

2 Peter 3

15And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

I am sorry but I must have missed where you believe I quoted from Genesis. Listen, I've read the whole "corporate" argument. Matter of fact, I have a 500+ page thesis sitting right here on my laptop that attempts to prove your BORROWED argument. It's also been totally refuted by another writer. I have that refutation sitting on the same laptop. Both the thesis and the response are written at an academic level. In other words, they will be WAY past your current understanding. I've read both. In addition, I have done hours and hours of my own research and a thorough study on the subject in question. So, I at least have a fairly informed understanding of this subject.

Judging by your response, maybe you ought to go back and reread what I said again since you either didn't read it the first time or just didn't comprehend it.

I am done in this thread - feel free to take the last word.

So education determines ability to discern truth? I suppose we'll go back to yet another dark age mentality where only the "educated" people get to read the bible and tell us what the truth is. I suppose by that logic, you agree with all the "educated" people in our current academic environment, which say that God is not responsible for creation and imply that God doesn't even exist? I mean, I'm not even close to the level of a well-educated scientist, who's to say they're wrong? Don't they refute creationists all the time in their peer-reviewed scientific papers? And I didn't mean to say that you quoted genesis, I meant that Paul quoted Genesis and Malachi in the same chapter.

There is no humor in people making mockery of God's Word or others.

"There is no humor in people making mockery of God's Word " - I couldn't agree more. That is why I created this simple object lesson so that it would be totally clear how some MOCK the written Word of God with their antics and responses.

You left off the end of my statement....mockery...of others.

What you call a "mockery of others", I call "a simple object lesson so that it would be totally clear how some MOCK the written Word of God with their antics and responses. "

I don't care for your mockery but I am forced to endure it day after day. Clearly, you can't see your own mockery but perhaps now you will.
