Calvin also did not believe that Revelation was the inspired Words of God and wrote a Commentary on every book in the Protestant Bible except Revelation??? Since all the Protestant Bibles now include the Book of Revelation most Calvinistic theologians like Dr. Kenneth Gentry will never admit that Revelation is not part of God's Word but believe that the Olivet sermon of Jesus in Matthew 24 & 25, Mark 13 and Luke 21 has already happened historically or before AD 70 and that the New Jerusalem is a symbolic fairy tale. JESUS WILL WRITE ON US THE NAME OF THE CITY OF GOD THE *NEW JERUSALEM*!! Revelation 2:18; 3:12,21: Jesus says, "To him who overcomes I will give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it...And I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of the City of My God, the NEW JERUSALEM, which is coming down out of heaven from My God....And I will give the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne." According to Revelation 22:3 the only 2 thrones in the New Jerusalem will be the thrones of the Father and of the Lamb Jesus Christ. Post Reply

And how would anyone know? Are you the arbiter of what is and what isn't symbolic? Where is your published exegesis of the entire book of Revelation? I would like to compare it with other scholars. The only one we've touched on here in a major way is "Free will", but my denomination is obviously not the only one that believes that. Posted : 17 Sep, 2013 07:10 PM Mrs White has said that there will annihilation of the lost instead of weeping and gnashing of teeth and torment day and night for ever and ever.However Jesus says that there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth in hell 7 times in Matt 8:12;13:42;13:50;22:13;24:51;25:30 and Luke 13:28. Rev 19:20: But the Beast {666} was captued and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous sign in his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the Beastan worshipped his image. The 2 of them were thrown ALIVE into the fiery lake of burning sulur. Rev 20:10 And the devil who deceived them, into the lake of burning sulfur where the Beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented Day and night *FOR EVER and EVER !{666 is called the Beast 36 or {6X6} times in Revelation} Revelation 14:9-11: The angel said "If anyone worships the Beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on his hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury..He will be tormented with burning sulfur ..and the smoke of their torment rises *FOR EVER AND EVER!!" I do believe there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, but I fail to see where Jesus says it lasts for eternity in those references. Also, the Greek and Hebrew meaning of "forever and ever" typically means that something happens continually with no hope of unnatural cessation. "The smoke of their torment rises forever and ever", but I do not see anywhere in the bible that sinners receive the same reward of eternal life as the righteous, just in a different location. Also, in your defense of revelation, take a look at where sinners are punished. It's in the lake of fire, into which are cast death and hell and the grave to be destroyed. It's on the earth. God is going to recreate the earth, where do all the sinners go? Or even where Peter says that the elements of the earth are reserved to the last day to be melted with fervent heat for the judgment of the ungodly? Is the surface of the earth going to be continually burning after God makes it new? Do you also believe that the devil and his angels are going to be running around in some big cavern as the administrators of hell, with pitchforks and tails and everything? Anyway, I'll make another post and address where I think the bible says that the dead are right now, and where/when hell will be, and how long it will last. :peace::peace: Post Reply
