The answer is very simple when it comes to scriptures used by Calvinist to proclaim another Gospel.
The hard of heart refuse to rightly divide the word of the truth.
They also pull scriptures out of context to make them proclaim other than they do, I will give you an example.

They Choose Not to Hear and to See:
Posted : 3 Sep, 2011 12:24 PM
PhillipJohn said:
"The issue was very clear it is not that they could not see or could not hear because of their spiritual condition, Jesus said it was because THEY hardened their heart against the word of God."
James replies:
This is bizarre, but this is what you get with Arminians!!! Notice PhillipJohn says, "THEY....hardened their heart."
Now, lets look at the verses phillipjohn THEN POSTED RIGHT AFTER SAYING THIS:
John 12:40
"He (God) hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
So, PhillipJohn says the people hardened their hearts, and then immediately QUOTES a verse where it says that GOD hardened their hearts!!
Jesus literally says that people don't believe in Him "because you are not of my sheep."
Jesus says that NO ONE CAN COME to Him unless the Father draws them, and of course PhillipJohn will say ANYONE CAN COME.
I mean what do you say to people who contradict Scripture and then POST the very verse that they were contradicting???
Will phillipJohn ADMIT he just contradicted Scripture, and that he even posted the verse that SHOWS he contradicted Scripture???
He SHOULD.......but will he?
In Christ,
James

James to a Calvinist there is a contradiction but to a christian that believes the word of God, knows that believing is a choice as Jesus so made clear in this parable, unbelief does not rightly divide the word of God as is in this post.
In the parable of the sower Jesus explains what was said in quoted by Esais in the Gospel of John.
Such is your continual tactic James, Phillip did not write these verses, Jesus said, I have never claimed to be Jesus even though I am like him created in my father's image and his likeness and thus believing all he says unto me.

Thank you James for so proving the whole post of one hardening their heart. /you somehow left Jesus answer to John.

It is interesting to note all thru the word it is clear when man choose not to follow the lord and when he did not follow him and some come along and completely deny these simple truth's claiming all that do not believe what they say are deluded.
The issue was very clear it is not that they could not see or could not hear because of their spiritual condition, Jesus said it was because they hardened their heart against the word of God.
Jn 12:35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
Mt 13:9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Mt. 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
Mt. 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Mt. 13:12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
Mt. 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Mt. 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Mt. 13:15 For this peoples heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Mt. 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
Mt. 13:17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
The word of God is life to those that find it, it is your choice, you have the ability and the word of God will empower you to have whatever it proclaims to you.
Now James will you admit your hard heartedness. One must be willing to believe and rightly divide the word of truth, Are You?
14 To the LORD your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it. 15 Yet the LORD set his affection on your ancestors and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nationsas it is today.
God made a Covenant with Abraham. Because of that Covenant God Considers Israel His Chosen People.
It does not mean God elected them.
Psalm 33:12
New International Version (NIV)
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD,
the people he chose for his inheritance.
God Chose them because God KNEW that they would Believe and Obey.
I can Play this all Day. What you have to ask yourself is
Why cant I admit that God has the Ability to See into The Future.
If you do that then you will STOP being a calvinist and return to being a Christian.
Ill Read a few more. NopeNothing NewSame OlSame Ol.
Show me Any Scripture that Says
God Cannot See Into The Future. Because that is Why God Chooses PeopleGod SEES Into The Future and KNOWS Beforehand (PreKnowledge) Who Will and Who Wont Believe and Obey.
You must be Trying to Give me Carpel Tunnel by Making me Type thisOver and Over and Over and
Psalm 106:5
New International Version (NIV)
5 that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones,
that I may share in the joy of your nation
and join your inheritance in giving praise.
(PreKnowlege)Next?
Haggai 2:23
New International Version (NIV)
23 On that day, declares the LORD Almighty, I will take you, my servant Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, declares the LORD, and I will make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you, declares the LORD Almighty.
This One Actually Means that God Picked himbut God Still Knows what the Outcome will be.
Matthew 11:27
New International Version (NIV)
27 All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
This One also is One where Jesus Decides Whom He Wants to Reveal God to.
I am not Certain what you thought these Verses would Do? I meanyou do not seem Mentally Handicapedyet you have this Dyslexia when it comes to Predestination! You See What you Want to see!
You claim that you Understand Baptism to be a Sacramentyet you Refuse to Admit it Imparts any Grace. Why do you Call it a Sacrament then? Do you KNOW what a Sacrament is?
Maybe you attend one of those Cafeteria churcheswhere people go through the line of Doctrines and Beliefs and New Stuff and just Place on their Plates what they feel comfortable with?
I would say (simplified) that G-d choses to draw towards Him (and reveal Himself to) and whom He choses to not draw nearer to Him (and conceals Himself).
This should not be confused with whom is going to be saved and who is going to be doomed.
For all in this lifetime goes that Jesus is the way to Father. None will be excluded because he/she is chosen to go to hell, nor will one go to heaven because he/she is chosen.
All will be judged and the bible is crystal clear on what we will be judged and how we can be saved.
And the author of this thread would do me a huge favour as to not throw in half the bible as to make a point, as leave out the other half!
