The death of Whitney HoustonPosted : 12 Feb, 2012 11:49 AMI have seen several posts about the death of Whitney Houston and although I am truly sad about the passing of any human being, I am always somewhat surprised that so many assume that just because one "knew" about God, that alone "automatically" puts them in Heaven. Scripture is clear in that we do not get a free pass to Heaven simply because we have a "head knowledge" about Christ, or because we sing Gospel songs once in awhile; and not even because we suffered hell on earth (as one "Christian" gave as his reason that the singer is now "singing for Jesus").The Bible teaches that there is a requirement for salvation: "You must be born again" (John 3:7b). Please do not misunderstand me, I obviously do not know with any certainy whether or not Miss Houston was indeed a genuine, born again, believer in Christ; but as Christians, we need to be very careful that we aren't sending the wrong message to unbelievers who still need Jesus Christ. Death without Christ is both sobering and frightening - it is critical we do not put someone in Heaven simply because they were famous and we liked their music - it is even more critical that we do not sugarcoat the Gospel, or the way to salvation. Remember, it was Christ who said, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 7:21). |

The death of Whitney HoustonPosted : 12 Feb, 2012 01:10 PMHonestly this is what I hate and yes I used the word hate the most about Christians. Yes, we are to judge people by their fruit should I hang out with you or not will you influence me towards or against the Lord???? But we are never to judge someones salvation. PEROID!!!! Have you bother to read the guy who owned the vineyard and hired some in the morning, afternoon, and evening. I dont know if she cried out G-d save me on her death bed or not; neither do you!!!! Maybe she was saved all along the Scripture says well will show fruit not how much just fruit I think if Christians really knew Scripture you all would follow the law and be kosher. How many want to fight me now!!!!! I still think you are saved!!!!!!!!!! |

The death of Whitney HoustonPosted : 12 Feb, 2012 01:59 PMPlease forgive me and you are right. I read the beginning , made a conclusion and did not really read "You must be born again" (John 3:7b).
