well out of the many bibles that i have...

THe Ryrie study bible new american standard. It has notes and charts in it. when i was first saved at 15, this was the bible that i wanted to have but never had.

next is the Thompson Chain reference bivle NIV (there are other vesions as well) very good study bible. with may charts and subjects are chainned together and indexed.

along with this bible, i have used a Dakes Anotated bible in preparing for teaching the bible which i do from time to time. this one has outlines and notes in the bible text it self.

i also have a russian and german new testiments for refreshing my knowlege of those languages.

I now have a biligual bible that is in English /Spanish because i m planning on learning spanish.

then there are what I call "treasure bibles". these are bibles that have belonged to other people that used them regularly and hilighted and put notes in them. I found these in thrift stores. they are hard to find. I have 2. one belonged to a mother who wrote a prayer for her kids in it and put sticky note memory verses in it. and the other belonged to a reverend from the long beach area used in the 1950s 60s 70s.

I have Other versions to help me understand.

the most important thing is a relationship with the Lord not the acquiring of biblical knowledge as I recently learned. we need to have knowledge of the bible but the motive should be to enhance our relationship with the Lord and for Him to arm us with His truth for witnessing.

I don't have tons of different Bibles. The most important version of the Bible, to me, is the KJV, however, I love to go to the ERV (easy to read version) when I don't understand scriptures. My dad has been in pastoral work for years and would be much more familiar with different versions of the Bible, but the one I learned on was the KJV. My dad downloaded a program on my puter called "ESword. It has commentaries, different versions of the Bible, etc. on it. My dad has a small library of books, lol. He has read through the Bible over 20 times. If I have questions about the Bible I go to my mom or dad. :)

NIV, NASV, Greek. The only one I Do not like that is sold in Christian bookstores is the MEssage, which deletes or changes many Scriptures that condemn homosexuality and other things.
