Where do single women fit?

While reading different parts of the Bible I began to wonder where I fit in God's world/plan. I couldn't find a direct answer from the Bible or researching on line (at least looking for reputable sources). There is much in the Bible about honoring a husband and a woman's place in the home, but in a time/place where arranged marriages are not the norm, where does a single woman fit? Will God shun me for all eternity because I have not found a suitable husband? Am I breaking commandments by being a successful single woman? Just wondering if anyone has ideas about this or can direct me to scriptures that relate to the 21st century. Thanks, and God bless!

Captnjacky's thread should have some good information in there for you. It's titled, "How to know the will of God for your life and what is Spirit-filled"....It's on the first page and here is the link as well...

I will say no to this. If you are a child of the King, you are not "shunned".

God calls some people to be single. Paul encouraged those who were not married to remain single.

1 Corinthians 7:8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I.

9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:

33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.

34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.

35 And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

Be willing to accept a single life, but keep praying for God's choice of a spouse. There are many things a single woman can do for God...Sunday School teacher, children's ministry, missionary, etc.

Hey, I have been struggling mostly with how to explain to others, who are concerned that I am not attached yet, why I am ok at

the moment.

While searching the internet I found a great website concerning . . . you guessed it . . . single women.

http://www.christian-single-woman.com/site-map.html it is a great site that offers alot of insight into your question, and encouragement too. Check it out.

I think I am being directed to get closer to God, and that is preparing me to become a wife (or maybe it is just drawing me closer to God).

Hope it helps!
