As a Christian you must be giving to your community. I have noticed that I havent been as giving as I should be in the last few years but its something I should do.
There was very few people walking the streets were I live but it seems like there is a lot more lately. I didnt understand why but Im not in their situation. The lord Jesus wants us to be giving to the community and not just sustenance but love also.
1CORINTHIANS 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
God wants us to look to one another for strength and to pick each other up when we fall with a forgiving heart. Some have had it so hard they forget loving one another. We need to be an encouragement to our brothers and sisters.
You have to watch yourself its too easy to slip into sin. when you show the love you have for others it takes you away from sin and puts you in a different mindset. Let us not get so wrapped up in something that it distracts us from what Christ wants for us.
COLOSSIANS 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
The most charitable thing for us to do is to introduce someone to Christ but we need not forget the physical needs. There are some that are so down that it takes them from living life to not being able to sustain themselves.
1TIMOTHY 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Our young men and women need an example to follow for they will lead in the future. The youth need to be an example to our elders and the others their age giving the love of Christ to all.
Charity being the main thing Christ asked of us before and after we are forgiven. We need to have a forgiving heart as Christ did. Dont expect perfection in anyone were all still sinners.
Salvation is to anyone who asks the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiveness.
Here is a sample prayer if youre not saved today ask God for salvation in Jesus Christs Name. Saying this prayer is a way to declare to God that you are relying on Jesus Christ for your salvation.
The words themselves will not save you. Only faith "full belief" in Jesus Christ can provide salvation.
Dear Heavenly father I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment. But Christ took the punishment that I deserve, so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven."
"Jesus Christ, with your help I place my trust in you for salvation, and I ask that you will forgive me of my sins? I thank you for your wonderful grace and forgiveness.
Go and tell a Christian church you have asked for salvation and they will help you and go to Sunday school you'll find fellowship and the study of the bible to be a great help as you grow as a Christian.
Charity in the Bible is considered love. We should show love to all. There are many ways to reach out to the lost and hurting.
My church has a food pantry and when providing food to those who seek help, we also give out the Gospel.
My parent's church has a food ministry...give out bags of groceries to about 250 people every other week...they also provide the Gospel to all who receive help.
Compassion was a quality Jesus showed throughout His ministry. In today's society, we must use discernment to know who to help and when.
Give as God moves you. Don't feel guilty if you don't have to give or feel compelled to give to every person with their hand out. Prayer always works.
2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver....xo
