Since Matthew records that Jesus had the 5 wise virgins betrothed to Him, "and went in with the bridegroom and shut the door", we know that this is not biblical, but that someone is seeking, as always, to use the gospel and truth, to convert someone into capital..

"Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh." 25:1-13]

This is a Parablel...for Yahshua~Messiah~Christ Jesus always spoken in Parables...and no names are mentioned...

[ five ] of them were [ wise, ] and [ five ] were [ foolish. ]

*** A comparason

They that were foolish took their lamps, and [ took no oil with them: ]

But the wise [ took oil ] in their vessels with their lamps.

*** This is likend to the two women in the field...two men in a bed..."one" will be taken..."one" will be left...there is more to this Parable than just "Virgins" and "Bridgroom"...its about being prepared and vigilant...

Mat 25:13 ~ Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

*** If ye be Wise unto what the LORD is seeking in HIS Bride...the 50/50 chance...is a no brainer...xo

GodsJude,

Yes, I read the article in the NY Times and, like you, am fascinated! The piece of papyrus has been authenticated but we will never know what the rest of it said.

Could Jesus have had a wife? To me, and to my beliefs, it would not matter. To others perhaps it would be devastating to think that he did.

Amazing that 1600 years after the fact, that little piece of paper is found. I wonder what else is out there that we have yet "to discover!"

Heard about this on the News.

There is always someone looking for something that is not in the HOLY BIBLE. "Unbelievers" I say they are.

Jesus, the perfect lamb of God!

NRSV shared ~ Could Jesus have had a wife? To me, and to my beliefs, it would not matter. To others perhaps it would be devastating to think that he did.

*** It does not matter to me either...Ive spent some time in the past researching and studying Coptic & Nostic writtings that have been found and preserved...I always find them to be very interesting to say the least...however...all in all...Ive always been reminded...I as well as others am in the body (Church) of Yahshua Messiah~Christ Jesus and His Spirit dwells within me...Invited to Wedding Feast...therefore...a Bride...May we be found Worthy to enter in before the Throne of the Most High...Blessings to all...xo

The gospels, as we know them in the Bible, are not and have no intention to be a biography of Jesus life. Each one of them is a testimony of Jesus being the Messiah.

It was not Jesus private life that made Him the Messiah but the path He choose as a man and in full free will, in obeying His Father.

This is for me the reason why we find manuscripts (or parts of it) referring to Jesus private life while the Gospel does not mention it: to convey the message that Jesus is the Messiah, his private life is totally redundant.

And as a sidenote, A billion member christian chruch kneels and bows before Jesus mother.... why do they despise the idea of a Jesus wife so much? :nahnah:

Ooops I am in somewhat a provoking mood this morning. However, I have no intention to offend my Roman Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ by my remarks.

I wish I would have deleted that last phrase. Just ignore it.

Thanks
