Forgiveness is hard to fulfill. Because everyday your forgiveness is tested. Everyday there is situation where you choose the outcome. You could get mad and retaliate or you could forgive. When you forgive people you are not just helping yourself you are also helping those around you by witnessing to them showing them that you are not part of the world, showing them that you are trying to be a more righteous person.

It is also important that you forgive others,

In Matthew 6:14-15, (For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.)

Holding grudges on other people is destructive and sinful. People will test your patience or forgiveness because satin uses them and wants to fill you with anger, it makes him happy.

God forgives all our sins when we ask, there fore we should not withhold forgiveness from others. Realizing completely Christ has forgiven us should produce a free and generous attitude of forgiveness toward others. When we dont forgive others, we are setting ourselves above Christs law of love.

In the story of the servant and the king. The king forgave the servants debt, but when the some one owed the servant he forgave not, the king found out and delivered the servant unto the tormentors, till he should pay his debt. (Matthew 18:22-35)

In Matthew 5:39 says to resist evil and if some one strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. That he may strike it. The Lord is telling you forgive no matter what happens. You will be tempted to strike back, But striking back is an act of anger and unforgiveness.

Forgive all.

What a big order to fill. We are to forgive as Christ has forgiven his children. How hard it is to do so. May God grant us strength to be faithful to his command.

Thank you for the reminder.

I struggled with this for years with a family member. I tried and tried in my own strength to forgive but I kept finding that I couldn't get there on my own. It wasn't until after much prayer and I do mean much prayer that the Lord finally lifted this resentment that I was feeling and I was able to truly forgive.

Amen TBK, prayer changes our attitudes toward those we are upset with. God may not change the situation, but he does change our hearts toward the ones who "offend" us.

We always have to seek the change within ourselves through Christ. If we wait for others to change, it will be a long wait. That's been my practical experience.

That's probably my most trusted parable. It reminds me of my debt to God, the forgiveness and sacrifice given to me thru him, and how I'm supposed to live my life in relation to him and others. Jesus' parables are a beautiful thing. If you study this one enough, you have everything you need to reveal God, salvation, and the christian walk to your own life. SO DEEP:prayingm:.
