There is a difference between respecting authority and bowing down without dissent. In revelation it talks about the a beast-power punishing those that refuse to worship the image of the beast. Our first allegiance is to God only. Our respect for government is not meant to have so much power as to command us to go against God, or to never question it when it attempts to do so. I'm not saying Obama is the Anti-christ, I'm just saying that talking about the government is not wrong. The bible labels government powers as "anti-christ" all the time. Paul labeled the Roman authority as many different negative things, but it doesn't mean he didn't respect their authority or pray for them. :peace::peace: Post Reply
