COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM..

I know God has been faithful to all of you.

The Bible says we need to be separate from unbelievers



2 Cor6: 11 We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you. 12 We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us. 13 As a fair exchange�I speak as to my children�open wide your hearts also.



Warning Against Idolatry

14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial[b]? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:



�I will live with them

and walk among them,

and I will be their God,

and they will be my people.�[c]

17 Therefore,



�Come out from them

and be separate,

says the Lord.

Touch no unclean thing,

and I will receive you.�[d]

18 And,



�I will be a Father to you,

and you will be my sons and daughters,

says the Lord Almighty.�[e]



2 Cor 7: 1 Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.



From what we've seen there is a promise for separation yet are we separate from them-unbelievers?



How do we separate ourselves from them?

Excellent post.



We must walk among the heathen, but we do not have to act as they do. We (believers) are to act as God in his holy infallible word has called us to live. Always striving for holiness.

I put a lot of thought into this. I agree �come out from among them� has a lot to do with how I �look� to the world Do I look like a follower of G-d. Y-shua said what is it to love the lovable even the heathen do that� and He says over and over again what you do in secret your Father in heaven will notice. There are so many fronts I can put up and pull off to look good. But the real deal is what counts is the life I live before the audience of ONE. Some days I am sooo in-love with Him I care I actually on purpose do what the Scripture tells me to do : what�s so ever lovely, pure and true think on these things� bring every though captive under the Word of G-d. � bring every though captive under the Word of G-d. It�s not a hard thing to do; for I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me� but then there are those times I am in love with my flesh more and I just don�t do or think what�s right when I am a lone. I�s such a funny thing when I think if I please my flesh I will be happy, but it ends in sorrow� when I please my Lord I end up with joy and peace though my flesh may suffer for a little while while it�s being crucified.
