Scripture is written for me. It is written that when I read I might apply to my life and it is not to be a weapon used to condemn others.

Where guilt is focused in scripture and rebellion is expressed toward God it for my relating in my own life to understand my own rebelion and dissbelief.

When encouragement is expressed it is written for encouragement to me.

When commands are written it is written as commands for me.

Etc

Scripture is written expressivly for me how about you?

Absolutely...

Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Thankyou Teach, I know these scriptures very well. So let us apply the intimacy and instruction of scripture to our own lives.

This is what Jesus was referring to when He said that we should take the plank out of our own eye, did He not?

And by the way this thread is not directed at onyone it is only a understanding of my own faith that I seek to live out.

I have been down the bible battle road many years ago and it leads no where.

It wasnt until I forsake that mindset and truly began allowing scripture to be my intimate guide to God that true life began to flow from me.

See, it is taught by preachers that winning persons to christ is our reward and living and serving are our rewards in heaven.

I have come to realise that God is the only reward I need and want. God is the crown. God is the treasure. What are golden streets and jeweled walls compared to God?

Scripture is a tow edge sward. I sat in my friends house sometime back and he spoke of the differences between people. I responded by saying there is no difference in Y-shusa between man and quoted there is no difference between the non-Jew and the Jew with Y-shua. He said that is the most beautiful thing he ever heard. He asked me if gays can be Christians. I said yes, but if you will find Him you will not stay that way and told him about how the Holy Spirit bring us from glory to glory and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I spoke to him the Word. My friend listened to every word; never spoke to me again, but listened to every word. The thing that I have learnt people are not fighting me but the Word of G-d when I quote it in simple conversation. It is a two edge sward that splits between the bone and the marrow. I dont hate them for not talking to me anymore; in fact I think its a complement. G-d used me to convict their heart.

Your right M, The problem is when christians take their sword out and start hacking at oneanother. My point is that we first have to apply scripture to our own lives and allow the truth to penetrate our rocky hearts wich mine was very hard.

I had a very hard heart even after studying scripture starting from the age of nine. That was 36 years ago. Even though I had knowledge of scripture due to my hard heart very little truth actually penetrated my heart.

It was not for loss though because the scipture I did learn now is being continually revealed to me personally. Now that my heart is one of flesh and not stone.

It is wounderful to feel and love and care and be able to freely do so. It is wounderful to hurt and be offended and not retalliate out of my hurt but have a safe place in with to go and find healing and strength.

Living the life as a Son of God is amazing.......The other thing is some aspects of scripture and very personal to me with the love of my life God. Another reason I share little scripture with others is their is a intimacy level I have developed with scripture.

Like prayer I used to have no problem with praying with others but today because of the intimacy level their is a vaulnerability in that I only share with those closest to me.

When our faith becomes so personal the phrase of casting our pearls before swine becomes very personal. It is very personal to me.

I love sharing Scripture...if you didn't guess. I am always amazed at how the Holy Spirit will bring to memory passages relevant to the various topics.

Meditating, studying, and reading pays off...then the ability to rapidly search through an electronic Bible is awesome to find cross references.

Scripture never gets old. Even though I've read through the Bible multiple times, new verses stand out as I see their application in that particular season of my life. Proves that is the Living Word...applicable 2000 years ago and 2000 years into the future if the Lord tarries that long.

Unfortunately, not very many people open a Bible these days. I use both a tangible Bible and an electronic Bible, it depends on what I am doing on which format I use.

I don't know who might read a post...so quoting the Scripture helps those who may not initially take the time to look it up.
