Posted : 10 Sep, 2013 06:19 PM The New Testament warns us about potential abuses of the teaching of grace, most strongly in Jude 4, which speaks of �godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Y-shua Ha-Mashiach our only sovereign and Lord.� That is a serious warning, and one with profound implications, and we need to be on guard for any teaching that justifies sin based on grace. That is not grace! Today, there is a less extreme error in the teaching about grace that is very common in our churches, namely, that we are forgiven by grace although not transformed by grace. We should strive to please our Heavenly Father similar to how we strive to please our earthly father. **** 1 John 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
