ON DOCTRINE AND DOCTRINES!!! Addressing the claim of a contentious woman!!!

To the contentious woman :boxing: ---- the woman who would divide the body of Christ based on her on ERRANT understanding of the word "doctrine" and it's plural form "doctrines" If ever their was a VAIN DISPUTE -- this most certainly is it. In an effort to assert that I am a false teacher, this contentious woman has asserted that I misuse the words "doctrine" and "doctrines"
Here is her contentious assertion: "Your error is in the 'teaching of doctrine[s]'. Anywhere the plural -- doctrines -- is used, the reference is to wrong doctrine." "You may think I am splitting hairs, but for those caught up in the preciseness of definitions, this is HUGE! " "There is a difference between doctrine and doctrines. You have used the plural multiple times. "
Let's examine her claim two ways. First, according to fair and acceptable use of the English language itself. Second, in accordance with the Word of God. This will show the pure FOLLY of this CONTENTIOUS DIVISIVE woman.
What is the definition of "doctrine"?
Doctrine -A principle or body of principles presented for acceptance or belief, as by a religious, political, scientific, or philosophic group; dogma. The plural form of doctrine is doctrines.
1. a particular principle, position, or policy taught or advocated, as of a religion.
2. a body or system of teachings relating to a particular subject: the doctrine of a Church.
* I've quoted from the free dictionary. Webster's hold's essentially the same definition.
Notice: A doctrine can be a principle or a body of principles.
Now, If you have more than one doctrine. What do you have? That's right, you have doctrine(S). You could also say of a set of doctrines (principles) that they are doctrine. All of this is perfectly acceptable use of the English language. This should be obvious to everyone.....even a child.
Let's illustrate this point for simplicity:
"The Deity of Christ" is a doctrine as defined by point 1 above. Now, if I want to talk about "The Deity of Christ" and another doctrine.... let's say "The Resurrection of Christ ", I could speak of those together as two doctrine(S) of the Christian faith. This is a totally acceptable use of the English language.
So far so good. Right? Now, let's go another step. Let's suppose that I have five individual doctrine as defined by point 1 above:
1. The Deity of Christ
2. The Resurrection of Christ
3. The Trinity
4. Election
5. The Sovereignty of God.
I could still refer to these as doctrine(S) of the Christian faith or I could also refer to this set as "doctrine" because it is a body of principles as defined by point 2 above. Both are widely used and acceptable uses of the English language.
So, let's examine this contentious woman's assertion. She believes that I erred by teaching "doctrines" and not "doctrine". I have now shown that acceptable usage of the English language prove this claim to have NO merit.
Now, let's turn to the Word of God. First let's look at some Greek words and define their meanings.
G1319 didaskalia (did-as-kal-ee'-ah) n.
1. instruction (the function or the information)
KJV: doctrine, learning, teaching
Root(s): G1320 --- G1320 didaskalos (did-as'-kal-os) n. 1. a teacher, an instructor
2. (figuratively, with reverence) master KJV: doctor, master, teacher
G1322 didache (did-akh-ay') n.
1. instruction (the act or the matter)
[from G1321]
KJV: doctrine, hath been taught
Root(s): G1321 --- G1321 didasko (did-as'-ko) v. 1. to teach KJV: teach
The word "doctrines" is used 5 times in the KJV - let's examine it's usage.
Matt. 15:19 - G1319 doctrines further described or distinguished as "the commandments of men"
Mark 7:7 - G1319 doctrines further described or distinguished as "the commandments of men"
Col 2:22 - G1319 doctrines further described or distinguished as "the commandments of men"
1 Tim. 4:1 - G1319 doctrines further described or distinguished as "of devils"
Heb. 13: 9 - G1322 doctrines further described or distinguished as "divers and strange"
What can we conclude from these 5 passages? The issue was that these were all FALSE doctrines (commandments of men, doctrines of devils, divers and strange doctrines). In each instance of the use of the word "doctrines" there is a qualifying descriptor that separates it from what the Bible refers to as sound doctrine.
Now, let's just look at three uses of the word "doctrine"
Matt: 16:12 G1322 doctrine further described or distinguished as "of the Pharisees and Saducees"
Rev. 2: 14 - G1322 doctrine further described or distinguished as " of Balaam"
Rev. 2:15 - G1322 doctrine further described or distinguished as "of the Nicolaitans which thing I hate"
What can we conclude from these 3 passages? The issue was that these were FALSE doctrine. (doctrine of the Pharisees and Saducees, doctrine of Baal, doctrine of Nicolaitans). Watch out for those doctrine! G1322
NOTICE: Both of the words "doctrine" and "doctrines" can be used to describe FALSE teaching. NOTICE: The Greek root word is the same whether it's used as singular or plural.
So, let's examine this contentious woman's assertion. She believes that I erred by teaching "doctrines" and not "doctrine". What she fails to understand is that whether it's the word doctrine or doctrine(S) is not the point. The point is whether or not the doctrine or doctrines are TRUE and SOUND or FALSE and NOT SOUND. I have now shown that acceptable usage of G1322 and G1319 prove her claim to have NO merit.
(Eph 4:14 [KJB:PCE])
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine G1319, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; BE CAREFUL WITH THAT DOCTRINE G1319
NOTICE: The Greek root word is the same when we speak of doctrine(s)
(1Cor 14:26 [KJB:PCE])
How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine G1322, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. NOW, WHAT IF I HAVE TWO DOCTRINE G1322? Could I refer to those as doctrines? Of course, I can. NOTICE: The Greek root word is the same whether it's used as singular or plural.
(1Tim 1:10 [KJB:PCE])
For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine G1319. NOTICE: The Greek root word is the same whether it's used to describe FALSE doctrine or SOUND doctrine.
Much more can be said on this topic and Scriptures can be multiplied but I have now established sufficiently that this CONTENTIOUS woman speaks WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE.
SUMMARY: The bottom line here is that a doctrine or doctrines (G1319 and G1322) must always be sound -- they must be Biblical and in agreement with the faith delivered to the saints. In addition, we are told to avoid both false doctrine and false doctrines (G1319 and G1322). Whether or not the doctrine(S) is "wrong doctrine" the Greek root words are the same as that used for sound doctrine. Most likely the translators deemed the use of the plural form "doctrines" necessary when referring to "wrong doctrines" because there are usually more than one "wrong doctrine" on any given topic. In contrast, there is only one true doctrine which can consist of many true doctrine(S). Either way, whether or not the translator's add an "s", the Greek root words are the same.

I'm only guessing but this post must refer back to 5 days ago? Where other questions have been ignored or deemed of little matter... Where is the defense of doctrine, doctrines or anything of Christ in any of this? I see much words and defense here but only for the sake of one certain person who could have admitted to a typo...... who is it really that is being contentious? Who is it determining whether the accusation is FALSE ACCUSATION , or is it only an accusation in response to a so called open challenge? Is it okay to accuse another person of being contentious and border line slander a person publicly because they respond honestly to a challenge you posted in defense of your own self proclaimed status of teacher/preacher?
3 words friend... God bless you! Now get a grip!!!

Please show anywhere where I have preached/taught contrary to the doctrine of Christ/the Word. You may not like what I preach/teach but that it is not the point. You must show that it is contrary to the Word itself.
Highlight my comments and prove that the Word of God teaches otherwise. That's the challenge.
It is NOT enough to FALSELY ACCUSE somebody of doing something, you must show that this has in fact been done. As you all know, I have done this with the content from many other members here."

1 Timothy 6:3If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

"By contrast, I find many of the reformed faith (Calvinist) to be sorely lacking in fruit and very hard to relate with on any level. I would also say in general terms that I find many Calvinists to be very argumentative to the point of splitting hairs over a jot or a tittle and be willing to renounce the other person's faith over that jot. I've left many a Calvinist group over this type of behavior. "
