I was a missionairy in Israel and it is quite comical how the Orthodox Jews try to keep the OT Sabbath laws. One OT law states that you should not light a fire during the Sabbath and anyone who lights a fire on the Sabbath shall be put to death as per Exodus 35:2,3. This would of course mean that any Eskimo who lights a fire to keep from freezing to death must be put to death.
Since car motors have pistons that continually light fires so the Orthodox Jews will not drive their cars on the Sabbath; but the 7th Day Adventists drive cars to their churches on the Sabbath so according to OT Sabbath laws all SDA members should be put to death. A Sabbath days walk is only about 2/3rd's of a mile so you must not walk or travel over 2/3rd's of a mile on the Sabbath.{Acts 1:12}
Now in Israel most utilities burn coal which of course lights a huge fire so the Orthodox Jews turn on their lights and heaters a few minutes before the Sabbath begins??? But of course all the Jews and SDA's who do this are increasing the amount of coal utilities burn thus increasing the fires set during the Sabbath.
The last time the NT saints kept the Sabbath was the day before The resurrection of Jesus as per Luke 23:55,56. The NT saints worshipped and witnessed every day and so every day was the Lord's Day especially TODAY.
Acts 2:44-46: All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. ***EVERY DAY*** they continued to meet in the temple courts.
Hebrews 3:13: Encourage one another ***DAILY***, as long as it is called **TODAY**, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
Colossians 2:16,17: Therefore *DO NOT LET ANYONE JUDGE YOU* by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration **OR A SABBATH DAY**!! These are a **SHADOW** of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ!!!
SOME GREAT TIPS FOR 7TH DAY ADVENTISTS WHO WANT TO KEEP THE OT SABBATH LAWS:
***If someone commits the unpardonable sin of driving their car to church on the Sabbath thus starting thousands of piston fires just drop a cyanide pill in their Communion cup!! Remember, to keep from sinning you can always go to church on a horse and buggy!!
***If someone puts their lights or electric heater on {To keep from freezing to death} during the sabbath thus starting Utility coal burning fires just burn their house down; but wait until a minute after the Sabbath to start the fire!!!
***It would be wise to move to an area where you will not freeze to death during the winter such as South Georgia which is the same Longitude as Israel!!!
***If you live over 2/3rd's of a mile from your church or a Sabbath Days travel just come to your church a minute before the Sabbath starts {Be sure and bring a cot} since you cannot leave until a minute after the Sabbath ends. You could also stay at a friends house which is 1/3 of a mile from the church so you can go *ROUND-TRIP* on the Sabbath!!
*** If you do not want to obey the above tips you can always join another church which doesn't believe you have to obey OT Sabbath laws!!!
Galatians 2:14-16: Paul said, When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter in front of them all, "You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs? We who are Jews by birth and not 'Gentile sinners' know that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.!"
Galatians 2:20,21: The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"
Galatians 3:10-13: "All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written "Cursed is everyonewho does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law." Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith." The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, "The man who does these things will live by them." Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us!

THE FATHER AND JESUS DECLARED THAT ALL FOOD ARE NOW *CLEAN*!!
Acts 10:9-15 Peter went up to the roof to pray. He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being prepared, he fell into a trance. He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air. Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat." "Surely not Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean." The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God {The Lord, Jesus in Mark 7:19} has made clean!!"

As an Adventist, I just have a few things to clear up for you before you imply that I should kill myself again. Adventists do not believe in keeping the Law of Moses, only the 10 commandments. The 10 commandments are universal throughout scripture. From Genesis to Revelation, murder is sin. Stealing is sin. Coveting is sin, etc. Also, there is only one "Lord's day".
"I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet"
The Son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath.
"For the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day."
Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, and the Sabbath is the Lord's day.
Yes, Christians should meet together and worship God everyday, but there is only ONE day that God made holy from creation. You can mock my belief as much as you care to, but I will follow what God has convicted me of, and you can do the same. Just be careful that you're not committing the same mistake that Cain did by doing what you think is right instead of what God said to do.
"Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."
"For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."
I try to obey and keep the Sabbath holy in order to give glory to my Creator, not to try to keep the letter of the OT law. I have God's endorsement on my offering, what do you have?
"If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."
Also, keeping the Sabbath is not related to the OT laws any more than not stealing or not worship idols is, unless you're going to say that the rest of the 10 commandments are also invalid rites of Jewish culture. The Sabbath was instituted from Creation, and God told the Israelites to remember it even before Decalogue. The 10 commandments are the Royal Law of Liberty, the foundation of God's throne, the representation of His character and the character that He wants us to have.

As for your second post, I assume it's pointed at Adventists again, but the health "laws" that Adventists follow are only for "health" and not salvation. Our bodies are the temples of the holy spirit, and to complete the great commission given to us, we are much more effective if our minds and bodies are healthy, like Daniel and his friends. Does God want us to be 10 times wiser or to dull our senses with the diet habits of the world?

Genesis 1:29,30; God said, I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to *ALL* the beasts of the earth and *ALL* the birds of the air and *ALL* the creatures that move on the ground-*EVERYTHING* that has the breath of life in it and every green plant for *FOOD*!"
Genesis 9:2,3: God said to Noah after the flood, "The fear and dread of you will fall upon *ALL* the beasts of the earth and *ALL* the birds of the air, upon *EVERY* creature that moves along the ground, and upon *ALL* the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. *EVERYTHING* that lives and moves will be **FOOD FOR YOU**! Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you *EVERYTHING*
And so the forbidding to eat many animals in the Levitical diet was just TEMPORARY until the New Covenant of Jesus which is the same as the first 2 Divine Covenants in Genesis 1 and Genesis 9 above!

God would not have ordered Peter to eat animals and birds if it was unhealthy. Would God also order EVERYONE in Israel to eat the Passover lamb if it was unhealthy!! There is no evidence that meat is unhealthy if you take out the blood as God commanded and by cooking it well done.
When Israel wandered 40 years in the wilderness God gave them **MEAT** to eat!!

I'm not sure what version you're using, but you're misinterpreting it.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
God gave humans every seed-bearing plant and fruit to eat. Humans were created to be vegetarians. God gave every green herb to be food for the animals, they were also "vegetarian". Meat was only "allowed" after the flood, kind of like having multiple wives. God didn't "approve", but He allowed it. God even tried to get the Israelites back off meat by giving them mana, but they were still lusting after animal flesh. God allowed them to have meat again and they were cursed and suffered for it.
I have nothing else to dispute with you about the rest, we are "allowed" to eat anything and I won't condemn you for eating, although it appears you're ok with condemning me for not eating. I simply choose to follow God's original plan for humanity as closely as possible. Daniel and his friends followed God's way, and were hugely blessed with wisdom and health because they honored the temple of their body and gave glory to God. If you don't want that blessing, then that's fine, but I want to try to honor God with my entire mind/body/spirit. If you think there's something wrong with that, then I don't know what to say.
