Do I believe in God?

Unless we have salvation there is no way to live like we are saved. We will not have the Holy Spirit guiding us in the way we should go. If I lived as though I was truly saved without asking Christ for salvation I would go to hell. We have to know and its not that hard to know.

DEUTERONOMY 11:16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

There are some questions you need to ask yourself. Do I believe in God? Do I believe God sent His beloved son here to die for a sinful world? Do I Believe Christ went to the cross, was crucified, went to hell, conquered it and rose from the grave to give salvation? Have I repented of my sin and asked Christ for salvation? If you havent asked yourself that you need to.

PSALMS 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

We all sin and will till we die. You can have comfort in knowing that you are saved from your sin and there is nothing that can pull us away from Christ including ourselves.

MATTHEW 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Here is a sample prayer if you're not saved today ask God for salvation in Jesus Christ's Name. Saying this prayer is a way to declare to God that you are relying on Christ for your salvation.

The words themselves will not save you. Only faith "full belief" in Jesus Christ can provide salvation.

Dear Heavenly father I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment. But Christ took the punishment that I deserve, so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven?"

"Jesus Christ, with your help I place my trust in you for salvation, and I ask that you will forgive me of my sins. I thank you for your wonderful grace and forgiveness.

Go tell a Christian church you have asked Christ for salvation and go to Sunday school you'll find fellowship and the study of the bible to be a great help as you grow as a Christian.

I have never been able to find this prayer in the Bible or one like it. I have never been able to find a verse in the Bible that tells me I have to ask Jesus to forgive me for anything and especially my sins "against Him". I have never been able to find a verse or passage in the Bible that tells me that Jesus will give me salvation if I ask Him for it. I don't understand why the Church not only makes this stuff up but also insists that people do it in order to be saved. I think that what you mean to say is that you must say this prayer to become a Christian, as in "one of us".

The answer to salvation is Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Just believe. No prayer. No asking for forgiveness. No asking Jesus into our heart. No making Jesus Lord of our lives. None of that non-Biblical stuff. Just believe. Just have faith and believe it when Jesus says your faith has made you whole.

Ya...I've never found this exact prayer in the bible either...I have found in the past King Davids Prayer asking GOD's for forgivness...I'll have to find it again...its really good...

These types of Prayers are personal...one can recite a given prayer given as an example...stating Repentance...asking forgiveness...acknowledging Christ as LORD as Savoiur...and Ifin your heart isnt there...nor will your treasure be...ya cant FAKE sincere Repentance nor sincere Surrender unto the LORD of Lords and KING of Kings...if you dont believe in Him...then you are wating your own time...not his... lol

Yahshua...aka Jesus the Christ came down from the "temptation" mountain and proclaimed...

Matthew 3:2 and saying, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand..

*** If HE commanded it I dont question it...xo

Here it is...

Psalm 51 (NKJV)

Psalm 51

New King James Version (NKJV)

A Prayer of Repentance

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David when Nathan the prophet went to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.

1 Have mercy upon me, O God,

According to Your lovingkindness;

According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,

Blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,

And cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I acknowledge my transgressions,

And my sin is always before me.

4 Against You, You only, have I sinned,

And done this evil in Your sight

That You may be found just when You speak,[a]

And blameless when You judge.

5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,

And in sin my mother conceived me.

6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,

And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.

7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;

Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

8 Make me hear joy and gladness,

That the bones You have broken may rejoice.

9 Hide Your face from my sins,

And blot out all my iniquities.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,

And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

11 Do not cast me away from Your presence,

And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,

And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,

And sinners shall be converted to You.

14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,

The God of my salvation,

And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.

15 O Lord, open my lips,

And my mouth shall show forth Your praise.

16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it;

You do not delight in burnt offering.

17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,

A broken and a contrite heart

These, O God, You will not despise.

18 Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion;

Build the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness,

With burnt offering and whole burnt offering;

Then they shall offer bulls on Your altar.

I believe this Psalm is David's prayer after being confronted with his sin with Bathsheba and the murder of of her husband. I think it's a good example of a prayer for a believer to pray when they have sinned. David is asking that his sin be blotted out and not held against him. I would speculate that it is because it is his sin that will cause the Holy Spirit to leave him as it did Saul because of his sin. I don't think that this is an example of a prayer for a person to pray if they want to be saved because David is asking for restoration of the joy of his salvation. He already knows the salvation of God and wants the joy of it back in his spirit. As long as he has the guilt of being unclean he cannot experience the joy of his salvation.

*** SBDYagrieving the Holy Spirit is whole nother matterand loosing the joy of the spirit is awful...God did "restore" David...

When true conviction by the Holy Spirit comes upon a person and that person is truly repentant of (all sin)past and present(back slidin)is not Restoration a part of Salvation ?Isnt that what Christ didto Reconcile (Restore) us to Father GOD ???... :o) xo

I don't think redemption and restoration are the same thing. Redemption is to pay for something that was originally yours in the first place. It's like the story of the little boy with the boat that was a gift to him. He took it to the park and put it in the pond. When he accidentally let go of the string attached to the boat it drifted away and he lost it. He later found the boat for sale in a nearby store and bought it. When he left the store he said to the boat, "Now you are twice mine." He had redeemed the boat. Restoration means to repair or rebuild something back to it's original or to a better than new condition. The Bible speaks of redemption for the sinner but not for the saint and restoration for the saint but not for the sinner. Jesus sacrifice on the cross was to pay the price of redemption. Mankind originally belonged to God as His creation but was stolen from God by the fall of man in the garden. The price for redeeming mankind back to the father was the death of His Son. Therefore mankind was not restored but was redeemed. However, it is because we are redeemed that we will be restored to our original and perfect condition when we are with our Father in the future eternal Kingdom in the new Heavens and Earth.
