"What is Seventh-day Adventism (SDA), and what do Seventh-day Adventists believe?"

Answer: There seem to be different "degrees" of Seventh-day Adventism. Some Seventh-day Adventists believe identically to orthodox Christians, other than believing that worship should be held on Saturday and that the Saturday Sabbath should still be observed. If these are the only differences, then, yes, a person could be a Seventh-day Adventist and still be a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

However, some Seventh-day Adventists believe in much more than a Saturday Sabbath / worship day. Seventh-day Adventists have been known to believe in the annihilation of the wicked instead of an eternal hell, and believe that believers who die enter a state of soul sleep and that a person must observe the Saturday Sabbath in order to be saved. Other problems with some Seventh-day Adventists are belief in Ellen G. White, the founder of Seventh-day Adventism, as a true prophet of God, even though many of her "prophecies" failed to come true, and that Jesus entered a second phase of His redemptive work on October 22, 1844, as "prophesied" by Hiram Edson.

So, what is Seventh-day Adventism, and what do Seventh-day Adventists believe? Should a Christian attend a Seventh-day Adventist church? Due to the potential doctrinal issues mentioned above, we would strongly encourage believers to not get involved in Seventh-day Adventism. Yes, a person can be an advocate of Seventh-day Adventism and still be a believer. At the same time, there are enough potential issues to make attending a Seventh-day Adventist church questionable at best.

You say, "a person could be a Seventh-day Adventist and still be a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ." The same can be said of anyone in any religion including Christianity. If, however you are implying that a person in the Seventh Day Adventist Church can also be a Christian and that is based on your assumption that anyone who believes in Jesus Christ is a Christian then you would be making an errant assumption.

Seventh Day Adventists believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and many have great faith. If Christians don't agree/approve of their non-dispensational beliefs (thank God for that!) and other differences then what difference does it make?

You might be thinking that believing in Jesus and being a Christian are the same thing but that is not true. Therefore it is very possible that people in many other religions or sects can be believers in Jesus and not be Christians.

So my question is, what are you judging here, who can be a Christian or who can be a believer in Jesus?

Believing in Christ Jesus verses having a personal, one-on-one relationship with Him as your Lord, Savior and Redeemer, to me will always be two completely different realities, no matter how He's recognized or acknowledged in one's faith or belief! Just my two cents..........

What the article is saying that there are differences in the different divisions of the religion. Some may be saved or NOT. Only God knows for sure unless it is spoken from a believers mouth to be sure

Those who accept Jesus as their savior by faith through grace are saved

Eph 2:8.For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

There are also other things that are questionable about the seventh day adventist. Like for instance the investigative judgement and baptismal regeneration. There are things that are hidden but yet they appear to believe in faith by .

I agree with you wholeheartedly sister!

Even satan believes in Jesus! In fact he also knows the Bible better than many christians!!

We as true followers of Christ must have a relationship with our savior and truly know his nature.

OK so there are differences in Seventh Day Adventist doctrines. How is that any different from other denominations of Christianity, or Buddhism, Hinduism, etc. Who cares? What is your point? Are you picking out Seventh Day Adventists for a reason?

The tone of the OP is that there is something non-Christian about Seventh Day Adventism. So I want to know why you are bringing it up.

I care and so should you. Any religion that perverts Gods word is a concern to me and not all of them are so blatantly obvious as hinduism or buddism. Instead of being combative you may want to do the research and join in the cause of helping people to understand the true gospel and the things to be aware of with false religions . There are MANY FALSE religions out there these days. Im only trying to help those that are new in their quest for seeking Christ and give them something to ponder on with the hope that they too will learn the deceptive snares of certain religions.

Thank you Hidden! You answer is exactly what I would have said. I only post what I post as information to give people to ponder on! I pray that they look further into the FALSE things certain religions present.

Jesus warned of the many false prophets that will come. It is the duty of a true follower of Christ to help people to not be snared into false beliefs.

Seventh-day Adventism is a dangerous sect.

God will punish them for false teaching i.e. heresies.

Ephesians 5:11

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

2 John 1:9-11

Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.
