Question:Why does Yeshua tell these people to depart from Him for doing good works?
Posted : 30 Jul, 2014 06:17 PM
Hello everyone:
In the following Scripture,Yeshua does not commend the people for doing what appears to be good works.
WHY?
You will not find the answer in the English translations.
You must find the answer in the Greek Scriptures.
Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power?
Mat 7:23 And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; "depart from Me, those working lawlessness!" Psa. 6:8

The entire book of Matthew that George is quoting from is written to a Jewish audience. This Gospel links the Old and New Testaments. It presents Yahshua~Jesus as the Messiah and King "promised" in the Old Testament. Matthew emphasizes Yahshuas' "authority" and "power"...Yahshua is "teaching" many things in Matthew 7...hence the "words" are in Red as "blood"He Teaches about Proper Judgment and Hypocritical JudgmentGive Not to Dogs or Swine...Ask and its GivenSeek and FindKnock and its Openedcommon senseBread or Stone(satan used this one on Yahshua)Fish or Serpent(Dietary)even those being Evil know how to give good gifts unto childrenHoweverAbba who is of Heaven gives good things who askthe Golden Rule vs12Straight or Wide GateStraight and Narrow is the Way and few find itBeware False Prophets and Ravening Wolvesyoull Know them by their FruitsakaWorksGood or Evil Fruitand these are those in the verses George listsEither the Works are Good or Eviland you either Know Him (Yahshua) or Notand If you do notHe Doesnt know you and says depart from me Workers of iniquitySowho ever Hears His sayings and Does themHe likes as a Wise man who built his house upon a rock and when the rains descended and the floods came the winds blew and beat on the house and it didnt fall for it was founded upon a rock That Rock is the foundation of Yahshua!!!!...Those that Hear His sayings are Not Like the Foolish man that built his house on Sand

Jesus says here to CHRISTIANS:
Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power?
Mat 7:23 And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; "depart from Me, those working lawlessness!" Psa. 6:8
In-the-name only believers who DO NOT what God says will NOT enter the Kingdom of God!
Who will be these people/Christians? Those who prophesize, cast out demons and in the name of Jesus they performed many miracles.
Why Jesus will NOT allow them to enter the Kingdom of God?
They are UNGODLY people!
"DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS".
If we LOVE Jesus, we OBEY Jesus and implement Hiis COMMANDS/commandments!

Our God Jesus speaks:
"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
John 14:15
John 14:21
Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me (JESUS). The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them."
John 14:23
Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me (JESUS) will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
John 15:10
If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love.
NOTE:
We know that we have come to know him (JESUS) if we keep his commands.
1 John 2:3
1 John 5:3
In fact, this is love:hearts: for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome
2 John 1:6
And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love:hearts:.

Hi fly and Jude:
Nice try,but you did not answer the question.
On the other hand Versavia is very close.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many
Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven.
Mat 7:23 And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; "depart from Me, those working lawlessness!" Psa. 6:8
in verse 21-22 people are casting out demons, and prophesying, are these not good works.
Suppose a person has a grandmother that is demon possessed and someone casts out the demon, would you not be excited,YET in which name was the demon cast out.
The English translations do not bring forth what has actually been said to Yeshua.
There is a Greek word which has been placed in the wrong word order that changes the entire text,it is the word 'NOT'.
The word order in English changes the text from a statement to a question,'did we not'
G3756
οὐ
ou
oo
Also οὐκ ouk ook used before a vowel and οὐχ ouch ookh before an aspirate.
A primary word; the absolutely negative (compare G3361) adverb; no or not: - + long, nay, neither, never, no (X man), none, [can-] not, + nothing, + special, un ([-worthy]), when, + without, + yet but. See also G3364, G3372.
The translation should be rendered thus;
Lord Lord,NOT in your name did we prophesy, and in your name demons cast out,and your name perform miracles.
Remember,it is the name of Yeshua which is at stake here.
In America people are casting out demons, performing miracles, and prophesying not in the name of Yeshua, but in some other name.
Discernment is necessary when confronted with the situations.

Thats right Maria !!!...Amen!!!...AMEN!!!
*** George...No where in the all of Mat 7 does Yahshua say to do "Works" in HIS "Name"...you are "Squishing into the Text to make it say what you want and Mis-Dirrecting" the Thread...as usual !!!...Your question is...
"Why does Yeshua tell these people to depart from Him for [[[ doing good works?" ]]] ...
*** Even your question is Mis-leading...George...In Matthew 7 Yahshua is saying He will cast out those for NOT Doing Good Works...He doesnt say because they Dont do it in His Name...
Here are some verses which Yahshua Does say "In my name"...
Jhn 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. :purpleangel:
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
*** Thank yo Yahshua...
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
*** "in my name"...
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
*** "in my name"...:bouncy:
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
*** :yay:
and
Mar 9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
*** In thy name :applause:
39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
*** :excited:
40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

Hi Jude:
It seems as though you do not understand any of the things i post, you are reading into the posts your own understanding instead of just reading what has been written.
Nowhere did i ever mention Messiah said a person has to do good works, but somehow you read that into the post.
Sorry you do not understand what i write, maybe my English needs some help.

Shared ~ It seems as though you do not understand any of the things i post, you are reading into the posts your own understanding instead of just reading what has been written.
*** GeorgeI understand what you post and disagree with much of it Obviouslyand I will explain why..
*** One Exampleaccording to you
Shared ~ The translation should be rendered thus;
Lord Lord, NOT in your name did we prophesy, and in your name demons cast out, and your name perform miracles.
*** Georgeif Yahshua wanted or needed the Scripture in Matthew 7 to include the word NOT Im more than positive He would have had it translated as such

*** GeorgeI understand what you write and your English is fine
