I had NEVER been a Psalms person. I just thought of it as a nice book of poems and rambles.
I wanted to get to the grittiest of grits, where the real actions was and to me, that was NOT the Psalms.
I was proven wrong by GOD yesterday at 4am after my regular telecommunication bible study.
Here is what I learned for the benefit/blessing of any Brother and Sister I have who just as I am, is still struggling with many things to come.
Psalm 46 (KJV)
"1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2�Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3�Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4�There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5�God is in the MIDST of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6�The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7�The�Lord�of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
8�Come, behold the works of the�Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
9�He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
10�Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."
MIDST= the middle or central part or point; A position of proximity to others. a period of time about the middle of a continuing act or condition.
What the verse meant to me is:
No matter if the world is falling apart, being moved from one place to another, corrupted with the lying hearts of Men, spillage of blood, injustice, leading us from what we feel like is our home, identity, loved ones; to finally come to a place of immanent DEATH... we will be led to the end, our beginning.
That MIDST which is the HEART of all calamity is the only one who can control the uncontrollable. ALL road (life or death) leads up to but that one center that has the POWER to hold all things... the great I AM.
Notice that this Psalm identifies The Almighty in both his character:
� The Comforter
� The Avenger
GOD has to allow these things to happen in order to claim what was paid for by blood, sweat, tears and DEATH of our SAVIOR.
It does NOT do us any JUSTICE to pray to God to stop all calamity because it is necessary to redeem all saints, for he had promised us that when we hear rumors of war, it means that the end is coming and to be prepared like the wise virgins, like Noah did for the coming flood.
He is coming to reap fruits, to claim his prize, to judge rightfully.
He did not promise us that we would not be part of the casualties. However he did state that he will;
Raise the fallen first and then the living in HIM.
He states that he does it for our good because if he allowed more time to pass, even us the righteous are prone to fall and get lost.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms :applause::yay::dancingp:and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
