Sabbath 01/03/15 Alfred Station SDB church Pastor Ken sermon The Lost Book II Kings 22:13

The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the final authority. Jesus is the filter for interpretation of scripture. Question�do you believe that what is in the Bible is important? Do you believe the Bible helps us understand God�s will for us? Do believe the Bible contains revelations from God? How many days did you read your Bible this week? Most of us said the Bible is important so we should be able to say seven days of the week. Unfortunately, for many people the Bible is a lost book. It�s a lost book that gets dusted off and put on the living room coffee table when the preacher comes to visit.
In our text, Josiah becomes king at the age of 8 years old. He reigned 30 years but his mother was Queen mother so he didn�t really start reigning until the 18th year. Josiah was 26 yrs. old when he wanted to repair the Temple. The money to repair the Temple came from the tithes and offerings. When searching thru the Temple, they find the Book of Covenant with God. Some believe it was several parts of Deuteronomy.
Age should not be a trap. The King was young, but no one should be trapped by their age and neither should we be. We can find scripture that says the older people should teach the younger. Gender should not be a trap either. The Queen mother was the one who taught Josiah how to be King like his father. She was a female. Josiah turned to Huldah, the prophetess, when the book was found. He asked her what they should do about the book and she was a female too. We also must not fall into the trap of vocation, what your job is. In our text we have a King, prophetess and stewards. All of these people had a part to play when the book was found. No one was left out because of the job they did. Each person in this community, despite their vocation or their job, had to deal with the lost book.
The first thing the King did was to have the book read out loud to him. Then he took the book seriously and rent his clothes. The King said if we don�t do what is in the book, God will judge us! The book of the covenant was to be taken seriously. If the Bible is a lost book to us, how are we to respond to it? We are called to take the Bible seriously, read it and study it. Use it as a final authority in faith and practice. We all just said we believe it is important. So dust it off, put it on your coffee table and read it! Josiah was a good King because he found the lost book and shared it with others in his community. He took it seriously. We should also take the Bible seriously!

Hello everyone:
I hate to rain on the parade,BUT the Word of has been written into Hebrew,Greek,Aramiac languages from which the various translations have been written.
The WORD of GOD written into Hebrew,Greek,and Aramaic has been translated and written into many different languages,which these translations ARE NOT WITHOUT ERROR.
EVERY translation has TRANSLATIONAL ERRORS,for this reason each person needs to be taught how to read,study,translate,and interpret the Word of GOD into their language.
For example:From the KJV
Mat 14:26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
Matthew 14:27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
In verse 27,this Scripture in the English says that Messiah tells the disciples that 'It is i do not be afraid.
Now let us look at this written in the Greek Scriptures.From the Literal translation.
Mat 14:27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, Be comforted! I AM! Do not fear.
The KJV denies the Deity of Messiah by saying 'It is i.
Now tell a Jewish person Yeshua says that 'It is i,they will say 'It is i; no big deal.
Yet say to them that Yeshua says 'I Am' do not fear,then you will have an argument over Messiah saying that He is the I AM.
That is the ONLY reason Peters says to Messiah 'If it is you ( the I AM,this is implied because of the text);command me to come to you upon the waters.
ONLY upon the basis of Messiah saying I AM was Peter willing to come out upon the waters.
You will not get that from most of the English translations.
The people calling themselves pastors/shepherds MOST are negligent to teach the people how to read,study,translate and interpret the Word of GOD;
All the while deceiving the people by speaking a message which they could read for themselves,had they been taught how to read,study,translate,and interpret the Word of GOD for themselves.
The ONLY message the people need will not come thru a man,woman,or child,but thru the Word of GOD,from Genesis 1:1,In the beginning Elohim.right thru to Revelation Rev 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you. Amen.
What the people need most is to be taught how to read,study,translate,and interpret the Word of GOD for themselves .
Yet the clowns calling themselves pastors do not care about the people,nor are they concerned about the body of Messiah; most are only concerned about building their own empires,how much they can get,and their own welfare.
Mat 28:18 And coming up Jesus talked with them, saying, All authority in Heaven and on earth was given to Me.
Mat 28:19 Then having gone, make learners of ME all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the completion of the age.
IF this was actually what these so called pastors had been doing,maybe we would be seeing the Holy Spirit manifesting Himself as in days of Old.
The 'church' is one of the biggest businesses in the world,if not the biggest.

*** The Holy Spirit brings to mind this Scripture...
2 Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
*** We as Christians are so very Blessed to have the "WORD" Written and Published so we may read and study and commune with GOD our Father and the Congregation of Believers in Jesus our LORD and Saviour...We are so Blessed to have Jesus' last "WORDS" to His Apostles and to us also...
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
*** What greater "Teacher" to have than the Holy Spirit of the One TRUE God !!! :yay: ... God Bless !!!
