Sabbath 4/4/15 Alfred Station SDB Pastor Ken sermon Jesus Is Risen Indeed Matthew 28:1-10

I. Journey to the Grave - verse 1:

Two woman went to see Jesus grave. They went on the first day of the week. People forget about Gods commandment to keep the Sabbath. They worship on the day they think Jesus rose. They forget that Jesus and God kept the Sabbath. If we translate the scriptures properly, the women went on the evening of the Sabbath. Evening was the beginning of the day-twilight or sunset. This sunset goes down slowly and its a moment of transition when evening comes and the day begins. Some will say it is late on the Sabbath and some will say the day had already begun. These women are going to visit a grave because they believe Jesus is dead. They saw Him crucified, heard His last words and are going to look at a grave.

II. The Intervention- verse 2-6

There was a great earthquake that announced that Jesus rose from the dead. Then an angel came with a message for the ladies. The messenger came and rolled away the stone and sat on it. His countenance was like lightening. Also the keepers of the gravesite fell into a deep sleep so they wouldnt bother the women. The angel told the ladies to come and see that Jesus had risen indeed. He is gone! They looked inside the tomb and it was empty!

III. The Commissioning -verse 7-10:

Now we see the women are being commissioned to tell what they saw, that Jesus was raised from the dead. They are to tell the disciples to meet Jesus in Galilee. This is a time when women were not allowed to preach. The angel of God told the women to tell what they had seed just like you and I are commissioned to tell the gospel. On their way to tell the disciples, Jesus shows up and meets the women. He tells them not to be afraid and that He really is alive. No one stole his body from the grave! We are called to believe that Jesus is alive and tell everybody. The women grabbed Jesus feet and worshipped Him. We are called to worship Jesus, the Son of God. The ladies held on to Him as they worshipped Him. We ought to hold onto Jesus and as we worship Him too. We are called to worship Jesus and listen to what He commands us to do. We are called to fulfill our commission. We are called to tell our family, friends and neighbors that Jesus is alive. God raised Him from the dead! We, as believers, are to tell that Christ the Lord is risen! The Son of God is Risen Indeed!!

AMEN

Article shared ~ I.

*** Lets take a look at that Scripture and see if what is being shared here is true shall we

Mat 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. (KJV)

*** Notice and read the Scripture in the end of the Sabbathwhich means the Sabbath was [ ended ] and now notice and read the Scripture dawn of the first day of the week which is on Sunday as the sun is rizing[Dawning]

*** Here is another Scripture with Sabbath past and 1st day of the week

Mark 16:1-2 and 9

16 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. (KJV)

*** Here is another Scripture with 1st day of the week

Luke 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. (KJV)

*** Here is another Scripture with 1st day of the week

John 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. (KJV)

*** HummmWellI read and see that the Sabbath is [[[ past ]]] which for the (Hebrew~Israel~Jew) is Saturday at Sunset and the 1st day of the week begins at that time which would be Sunday for the (Hebrew~Israel~Jew)Im not sure who these folks Alfred Station SDB Pastor Ken are or what they are translating from but this posted sermon isnt TrueIt appears the only thing that is forgotten is some folks forgot to read the Scriptures to verify

*** I find nothing wrong with keeping the Sabbath for the Scriptures say

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.(KJV)

*** I myself keep the Sabbath for the LORD says it is Holy and I also Fellowship, Bible Study and Worship with Christians on Sunday the 1st day of the week

*** I didnt finish reading the article however I do appreciate you sharing itGod Bless you and may Yall hava GOD HolySpirit Filled day

P.SPraise be to GOD Almighty...HE is Risen !!!...:yay:
