1Kings 17:7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.8 And the word of the Lord came unto him [Elijah], saying,9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

Lord God, we thank you so much for your Word. It is a constant encouragement to us in our daily lives and we long for a deeper understanding of it so it can sustain us in our journey as we pass though this world on our way to your heavenly glory, in Jesus mighty name, amen!

I want to thank my Brother in Christ for giving me this interpretation which he himself clearly learned from the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.

In verse 9 the Lord says to his Elijah 'I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.' Yet when we get to verse 12 she seems not to expect his arrival, she doesn't even appear particularly willing to help him, at first anyway.

So when God says that he commanded her, I believe that we are to take from this that he commanded her destiny, as well as that of Elijah. It was the Lord who put her in that place, as well as the Lord who lifted her faith up to the necessary level, in order to sustain his son.

Sometimes we might not even know what God has commanded of us until it is time for us to put our faith in him to the test. Let us take these verses as a prayer point to always let Gods commands govern our lives - even if we don't know fully what they are. And to always be ready to be faithful to do what he expects us to do.

So Lord we thank you for your commands and we ask you to keep on commanding us in all your ways, we ask you to raise our level of faith to the level you expect us to be at. Amen!

Blessed be the most high God and mighty are all his works!

Just a little drama of sorts by my Brother and I

Judas: Really? You call me traitor, betrayer? You label me all manner

of contemptible names? Unbelievable! You people even beat the hell out

of me every Good Friday for betraying Jesus. I've no excuse for my

actions but I assure you I'm not alone, I eagerly await the next

generation Judas' in hell, my very good friends who are more skilled

than I in this traitor business, like me they were called from before

the foundation of the world, fashioned by God, nurtured by God,

blessed by God, gifted by God - but unlike me - they benefited from

redemption and grace. Aha! This perverse generation of which I speak

chose satan over God and have used God given gifts to worship satan.

Am I the worse traitor? I'm sure by the time they get to hell I'll be

forgotten and the new generation judas' will be the special guests. I

nailed Jesus once, but they've nailed him continuously, spitting in

the face of my former masters redemption. Oh redemption...what a

privilege I lost!

Just a message to people who aren't saved, might be useful to use.

Imagine you've been caught speeding and you're sitting in the dock in

front of the judge. You're extremely sorry and you realise that you've

done wrong. You've made it clear to the judge that you wish you hadn't

offended and as such you ask him to 'let you off'. You say that you're

a 'really nice person', that you don't break any other laws and that

you 'wont do it again'. Would the judge be fair if he didn't sentence

you?

So the judge asks you to stand while he passes sentence. He says that

he accepts that you're genuinely repentant, that you realise it was

wrong and that you won't do it again, but that to be a 'just judge' he

must ask you to 'pay the price' of your wrong doing. So he fines you.

Unfortunately it's a fine you cannot afford to pay, so you must go to

prison. You really really don't want to go and you plead for him to

give you leniency. He looks on you with compassion but while he is

sitting in the judges chair with the judges robes on, he cannot do a

thing.

The Judge is so beset with compassion though, and he takes his robes

off, stands down from his chair, joins you in the dock and hands you

the exact money for the fine. I imagine you'd be so grateful about not

having to go to prison, that you'd do a great deal for him right?

The fact is, that God is the perfect judge, and we have all broken his

perfect laws by stealing, idolising, blaspheming, and looking on one

another with lust. But the 'Good News' is that he has stepped down

from heaven, as Jesus Christ of Nazareth and he has paid the price for

our transgressions already. He has done this whether or not we accept

it, and he would have done it for you alone if you had been the only

person alive. Galations 2:20 ...I live by the faith of the Son of God

[Jesus], who loved me, and gave himself for me.

God does love you and he wants you to be reborn, live forever with him

and to not die in your sin.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten

Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have

everlasting life.

You cannot wait until you're in front of God to ask for his

forgiveness though, he needs your faith in him while you're still

alive. He gave us his Word [the Bible], his Church [Christians] and

his Holy Spirit as a testimony to his authority. If we wait until we

are no longer living it will be too late and we will have lost our

souls.

If you accept that you've sinned against God and you seek his

forgiveness, please give your life over to Jesus, it will have been

the most important thing you have ever done.

Quote from OP: "But the 'Good News' is that he [YHWH, God, the Father, Almighty, the Father and God of our messiah, who raised our messiah from the dead] stepped down

from heaven, as Jesus Christ of Nazareth"

Can you show me where this is written in scripture?

I'm sorry about the last msg, I had just woken up and perhaps I was a little too defensive, please forgive me!

Scriptural reference, of course.

Jn 1:1 In the begining was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jn 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jn 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Jn 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

Jn 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Co 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Co 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Jn 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Ex 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.

Since Christ was fully God as well as fully man, He (as God) can easily be seen to have 'stepped down' from heaven onto earth to dwell here as the man, our Lord Jesus Christ, Paul says almost as much in his first epistle to Timothy.

1 Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

God became flesh (God stepped down from heaven)...preached unto the Gentiles (as Jesus Christ of Nazareth).

May God bless you in all you do and may his word dwell in you and transform you always my Brother and Sister in Christ Jesus!

I must thank you for asking for references, because God has revealed the awesome meaning of Ex 3:14 to me

Ex 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.

Obviously in context the 'me' is refering to Moses, and the Lord God is commanding Moses to say of himself that God has sent him (as in the previous verse Moses asks God what he should say his name is when the children of Israel ask).

But the verse is clearly powerful when we take it on it's own, It is the only time God ever refers to himself as 'I Am that I Am' and for me he clearly gives us a forewarning of Christ being sent to us. 'I Am hath sent me unto you.'

Our God is awesome!
