Acts 17:1-4 New King James Version (NKJV)

Preaching Christ at Thessalonica

Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews. Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ. And some of them were persuaded; and a great multitude of the devout Greeks, and not a few of the leading women, joined Paul and Silas."

QUESTIONS:1.The New Testament Scriptures had not been written therefore, What does it mean that Paul "REASONED WITH THEM OUT OF THE SCRIPTURES?"

#2. Why was it necessary for Christ to suffer and die, and be raised from the dead?

QUESTIONS:1.The New Testament Scriptures had not been written therefore, What does it mean that Paul "REASONED WITH THEM OUT OF THE SCRIPTURES?"

*** Paul taught from the Torah and reasoning is the action of thinking about something in a logical, sensible waySo Paul reasoned with them about what the Scriptures foretold in the Prophets so the people would understand that the Prophecies speaking of the Messiahs coming have been fulfilled. Torah was taught Verbally from the beginningthen the Tables of stone GOD gaveand then man started writing everything down on Velum leather / Parchment ScrollsIn 2 Tim 4:13 Paul spoke of bringing him books (biblion G975 a small book, a scroll, a written document / biblios G976 - a written book, a roll, a scroll) and parchments ( G3200 membrana - parchment, made first of dressed skins at Pergamos, hence its name ) I have no doubt he used these very Scriptures to "reason" with all he crossed paths with.

#2. Why was it necessary for Christ to suffer and die, and be raised from the dead?

*** Because Papa GODs Word NEVER returns Void and HE foretold this from the beginning in Genisisand it was the Only Way to Fulfill HIS requirement and punishment for SinTo fulfill the Prophecies written of the MessiahIsa 51-53 and many moreWe would have no Salvation with out him for Jesus is our Salvation...our Passover Lamb.
