Where is your focus?

If you don't know where to aim, how will you hit the bullseye? How often have you wondered, "What is the meaning of life?", and came away frustrated because it seemed to be a moving target? Or, "What is my purpose in life? Having the right answers to these questions is critical to having a good quality of life, for surely if you chase after the wrong things, your life will be wasted; no?

The answers to these two questions are simple but profound, and they need to be repeated often, so that we do no lose focus.

Meaning of Life "this is eternal life, to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." John 17:3

Purpose of Life "You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, all of your soul, all of your mind, (all of your will), and all of your strength." Mark12:29,30 While the will is not specifically mentioned, it is clear in the Greek text that the will of man is part of equation. Christ is saying, with everything that you are, your entire being, love God. This, by necessity, includes the affirmation of your will to attend to loving God.

So we have these intertwining truths and priorities which are to know God and Christ; and to love God. If we make this our target, and the focus of our entire being, the rest will work out. God must come first, above every person in your life, and every agenda you have set for yourself. Love is a decision which is to be on display for the world to see.

I like to think our purpose in life is to bring glory to God by fulfilling His plans for our lives.

The meaning of life-time spend loving the one who loved us when we were unworthy of love, that is God.

love God truly .the rest of your things just fall into place.its simply amazing.

We need to be very careful to submit our thoughts to God's thoughts. "Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment."

Notice, Jesus gave the highest priority to loving God, even above glorifying God. God can get glory from a stone or an unbeliever, but they do not love Him. Loving God, is the highest honor that man can have. This is our highest purpose, and by definition, we glorify God by loving Him.
