Hello everyone;

I decided to repost the question, as a certain person seems to think they need to write and post walls of scripture on almost every single thread in this section.

Mat 5:17

Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.

To those that answered, may I say that I do not believe any person translated the Scripture, for had they taken the time to translate, they might have had a better understanding of what Yeshua had spoken.

Most people that speak about this Scripture give the same understanding as the ones posted on the other thread with the same title.

What is truly sad, is that the people that have been speaking about this Scripture over the many years, they have not taken the time to translate the Word of GOD.

Speaking using a wrong translation means that the teaching is wrong also.

Let us look at the Scripture, then let us look at the context, words and tense of the words to have a better understanding.

Mat 5:17

Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.

Almost all of the teaching about this Scripture is wrong, as those teaching use this Scripture to try to bring the people back to being under the law, When this really teaches about the Grace, and Freedom of GOD Almighty in Messiah.

When Messiah says the HE came not to abolish, BUT to FULFILL, is He talking about OBEDIENCE to the LAW, OR something else. The English word FULFILL holds the answer.

Let us first look to see how a single word is able to change the context of anything that has been written.

NASB

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Those calling themselves jehovahs witness, have change John 1:1 with just a single vowel/ word, that being the letter 'a' .

Online Bible | NEW WORLD TRANSLATION OF THE HOLY SCRIPTURES (2013REVISION)

DISPLAY

According to John

1:1

1 In the beginning was the Word,+ and the Word was with God,+ and the Word was a god

By adding the letter 'a' to the Scripture, the context changes from Messiah being GOD, to being a god, or one of many gods.

Now back to the Scripture

Mat 5:17

Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.

Was Messiah teaching that He had come to OBEY the law as taught be many who call themselves Christians; OR was He teaching something completely different.

We need to look at the word FULFILL, in order to have a right understanding, as other Scriptures will help to give better clarity.

English: fulfill

Greek: plro

to make full, to fill up, i.e. to fill to the full

to cause to abound, to furnish or supply liberally

I abound, I am liberally supplied

to render full, i.e. to complete

to fill to the top: so that nothing shall be wanting to full measure, fill to the brim

to consummate: a number

to make complete in every particular, to render perfect

to carry through to the end, to accomplish, carry out, (some undertaking)

to carry into effect, bring to realisation, realise

Messiah did not come just to OBEY the law of GOD Almighty, ABSOLUTELY NOT, He had come in order to FILL UP, or to COMPLETE the law.

The law was complete, yet it was also empty, in that the law could not save anyone from the Wrath of GOD Almighty.

The law could not:

Justify anyone

Forgive or remove sin from anyone:

Make anyone RIGTHEOUS

Sanctify, or make a person HOLY.

The law cannot RECONCILE anyone to GOD Almighty.

The law cannot make any person either a son or daughter of the Most High GOD.

The law can only CONDEMN a person; ONLY Messiah is able to Save a person from the Wrath of GOD Almighty.

Rom 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Rom 5:9

Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.

Rom 5:10

For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life

Forgiveness of sin:

Heb 9:22

And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Heb 9:22

And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Isa 53:5

But He was pierced through for our transgressions,

He was crushed for our iniquities;

The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,

And by His scourging we are healed.

Isaih 53:6

All of us like sheep have gone astray,

Each of us has turned to his own way;

But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all

To fall on Him.

Sanctify:

John 17:19

For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

Righteousness: ( verse 21)

2Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

2Co 5:18

Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,

2Co 5:19

namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

2Co 5:20

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

2Co 5:21

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him

Mat 5:17

Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to FILL UP.

Luke 16:16: Jesus says, "The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John {The Baptist}. Since that time the **GOOD NEWS** of the Kingdom of God is being proclaimed, and everyone {Except TNT} is forcing their way into it!!"

Jeremiah 31:31: "The days are coming," declares the Lord, "When I will make a **NEW COVENANT**with the people of Israel, and it will **NOT BE LIKE** the covenant I made with their ancestors!!"

I Peter 1:18,19: For you know that was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were **REDEEMED** from the empty way of life handed down to you by your forefathers, but with the **PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST**, Lamb without blemish or defect!!

I Peter 2:24,25: He Himself **BORE OUR SINS** in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness, by **HIS WOUNDS** we are healed{See Isaiah 53:5,6}!! For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls!!

I John 2:1-5: My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have One who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the **ATONING SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS**, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world!! We know that we have come to know Him if we keep His {Jesus} commands. Whoever says, "I know Him," but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys His word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in Him!!

I John 4:10-12: This is **LOVE**, not that we loved God, but that He **LOVED** us and sent His Son as an **ATONING SACRIFICE** for our sins. Dear friends, since God so **LOVED** us, we also ought to **LOVE** one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we **LOVE** one another, God **LIVES IN US** and His **LOVE** is made complete in us.

Revelation 1:4,5: Grace and peace to you from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful Witness... To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins **BY HIS BLOOD**!!

NOTE: Jesus Christ our Savior is called the **LAMB** 30 times in the book of Revelation.

Revelation 5:6,9: Then I saw a **LAMB**, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne...You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because You were slain , and **WITH YOUR BLOOD** You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation!!

John 14:21,23,24: Jesus says, "Whoever has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me... Anyone who loves Me will obey My teaching. My Father will love them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love Me will not obey My teaching!"{Like TNT}

THE GREAT COMMISSION: Matthew 28:18-20: Jesus says, **ALL AUTHORITY** in heaven and on earth has been given to **ME**. Therefore go and make disciples of *ALL NATIONS*...teaching them to **OBEY EVERYTHING** I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always!!"

Matthew 24:35: Jesus says, Heaven and earth will pass away, but **MY WORDS WILL NEVER PASS AWAY**!"

Matthew 7:24,26: Jesus says, "Everyone who hears these **WORDS OF MINE** and **PUTS THEM INTO PRACTICE** is like a wise man who built his house on a Rock... But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand."

Isaiah 53:5,6: But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed! We all, like sheep, have gone astray , each of us has turned to his own way, and **THE LORD HAS LAID ON HIM THE INIQUITY OF US ALL**!!

Galatians 2:16: We know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but **BY FAITH** in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our **FAITH** in Christ Jesus that we may be **JUSTIFIED BY FAITH** in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law **NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED**!!

Galatians 3:23-26: Before the coming of this **FAITH**, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the **FAITH** that was to come would be revealed. So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be **JUSTIFIED BY FAITH**. Now that this **FAITH** has come we are **NO LONGER UNDER THE SUPERVION OF THE LAW**. So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God **THROUGH FAITH**!!

Galatians 5:5,6: For through the Spirit we eagerly await **BY FAITH** the righteousness for which we hope. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is **FAITH** expressing itself through **LOVE**!!

Ephesians 2:8-10: For it is by grace you have been saved, **THROUGH FAITH**--and this is not from yourselves, it is the **GIFT** of God by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do!!

Ephesians 3:16,17: I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts **THROUGH FAITH**!!

I Thessalonians 1:3: We remember before our God and Father you work produced **BY FAITH**!!

2 Thessalonians 1:3,4: We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your **FAITH** is growing **MORE AND MORE**....Therefore, among God's churches we boast about your perseverance and **FAITH** in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring!!

2 Thessalonians 1:11: We constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed **PROMPTED BY FAITH**!!

Jesus did not come to abolish the law. What does that mean? It means that God's Law still stands. People still have to obey God's Law. The only difference is Jesus made it easy for us to receive forgiveness of sins, so we don't have to kill goats to receive atonement. Jesus is was the ultimate sacrifice. And all we have to do is believe that Jesus died for our sins and ask God to forgive our sins as we forgive other people their sins. All we have to do is forgive others and ask God to forgive us. If we do that, the Bible says that God will forgive us. It's that simple. But Jesus did not come to abolish the law, so we still have to obey it. The only thing that did change is forgiveness became simple, easy, and instant. It's like the invention of washing machine. You know, long time ago people had to wash their clothes by hand. It took many hours of hard work to wash the clothes. But today all we have to do is load the dirty clothes into the washer, add detergent and press START. It's so fast and easy! Jesus did not come to abolish the law simply means that Jesus did not come to eliminate the need for clean clothes. He simply made a way for us to wash our clothes so we can appear holy and sinless before God's eyes.

Had Jesus abolished the law, it would have meant that we do not need to repent. We can go to heaven as dirty as we are. No need for repentance, no need for atonement, no need for forgiveness, because there is no concept of sin. Law is what condemns. If there is no law, there is no condemnation and everybody goes to heaven automatically for free. But that's not how it works. Jesus said He did not come to abolish the law. He also said that the NARROW path leads to heaven, and the wide highway leads to hell. Only few people will find the right path! Why? Because so many people assume that Jesus abolished the law. They say, "God saves all of us. We don't have to do anything!" Some people say you don't even have to say the sinner's prayer to become a Christian. It's automatic. You believe in Jesus, you go to heaven, it's that simple. But it's not that simple! God has a law, which has never been abolished, and it still stands. And each one will be judged according to that law. Revelation 20:12 says, "And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books."

Leviticus 5:5-10; 16-19: When anyone becomes aware that they are guilty of any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned. As a penalty for the sin they have committed, they **MUST** bring to the Lord a female lamb or goat from the flock as a **SIN OFFERING**; and the priest shall **MAKE ATONEMENT for them for their sin. Anyone who cannot afford a lamb is to bring 2 doves or 2 pigeons to the Lord as a penalty for their sin. They are to bring them to the priest, who shall first offer the one for the sin offering... The priest shall then offer the other as a burnt offering in the prescribed way and **MAKE ATONEMENT** for the sin they have committed, and they will be **FORGIVEN**.

Leviticus 17:11: The Lord said, "For the life of the creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make **ATONEMENT FOR YOURSELVES** on the altar; it is the **BLOOD THAT MAKES ATONEMENT FOR ONE'S LIFE**!!"

Isaiah 1:11,13,14: "The multitude of your sacrifices--what are they to Me?" says the Lord. "I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats... **STOP** bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to Me. New moons, Sabbaths and convocations--I cannot bear your worthless assemblies. Your New Moon feasts and your appointed festivals **I HATE WITH ALL MY BEING!!"

Now Hark wants you to continue in the 613 OT laws which would include over 200 OT laws for sin sacrifices, priests and the Deceased Temple and its embellishments which the **LORD HATES WITH ALL HIS BEING**!

Jeremiah 31:31,32,34: "The days are coming says the Lord," declares the Lord, "When I will make a **NEW COVENANT with the people of Israel. It will **NOT BE LIKE** the Covenant I made with their ancestors...For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more!!"

Isaiah 1:18: "Come now let us settle the matter," says the Lord. "Though your sins are like scarlet, the shall be as **WHITE AS SNOW**!

Now Hark teaches that our sins are forgiven by keeping all of the OT laws and even disagrees with OT teaching that your sins were forgiven by blood sacrifices of animals.

BUT WHAT DOES GOD'S WORD SAY??

Matthew 26:28: Jesus says, "This is my blood of the Covenant which is poured out for many for the **FORGIVENESS OF SINS**

I Peter 1:18,19: For you know that was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were **REDEEMED** from the empty way of life handed down to you by your forefathers, but with the **PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST**, Lamb without blemish or defect!!

I Peter 2:24,25: He Himself **BORE OUR SINS** in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness, by **HIS WOUNDS** we are healed {See Isaiah 53:5,6}!!

Dear friends, since God so **LOVED** us, we also ought to **LOVE** one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we **LOVE** one another, God **LIVES IN US** and His **LOVE** is made complete in us.

Prophetic / Richard;

Please stop replying to almost every message, that is quite annoying and childish. You have been asked and encouraged to stop, please stop you are not encouraging, or edifying anyone with your walls of scripture that do not pertain to the subjects posted.

May I suggest that you start a new thread with this subject:

By Prophetic, Is there any evidence that what I am doing is of GOD Almighty. The majority of answers should let you know that.

What part of " I didn't come to abolish The LAW, " don't you understand?

That was a rhetorical question; but I really would like an answer to my next question.

Let's revisit my past LOGICAL ARGUMENT.

Either you missed it before, or you ignored it, or I missed your LOGICAL counterargument.

If sin is defined transgression of the law; and there is no law; then there is no transgression of the law; so there is no sin.

Now I repeat my previous question. Maybe you missed it before; or maybe I missed your response.

Either way, here goes. READY!?

If there is no sin; what need I of grace?
