Lets say they outlawed Bibles, but you happened to get your hands on one. You want to share it with your other Christian friends, so you decide to take it apart and divide up the 66 books and distribute them......

Which book(s) would you keep for yourself?

Psalms

That's why it's so important to Hide His Word in our heart.

If something were to happen and you could never read another Bible, The Holy Spirit would bring all things to your remembrance. But you have to have known it to remember it-

so read, Saints,read ! :glow:

Very true, Chevy.

I'd take John. Everything is in there. That's the book I tell the lost to read after an encounter.

I have to agree with born again, John.

On a side note, I believe it's the Book of John that many translators translate first into another language, because of how you can lead someone to Christ with it. It's one of the Gospels, and I want to say it's John.

Whew! Tough choice!

I was going to say Romans, but perhaps John would be a better choice.

Romans for its concise (ish) but thorough theology

1 and 2 Peter because Peter's my homeboy

Job for when I get discouraged; Psalms for worship

Malachi because my favorite verse is there

Ruth for the (Kinsman-Redeemer) witnessing assistance

Then I get with my fellow believers so we can swap now and then.

John, and if I could keep a second, Proverbs or Isaiah.

Exodus, it has everything in the tabernacle and priesthood models. Jesus, salvation, maturity, everything. Aaron as the foreshadowing of Christ, his sons as the Jews and the Gentiles. The washing, baptism. The anointing oil, Holy Spirit. Way too much to get into here.

Much love,

Leon

Wow, I'm going to take a closer look at Exodus!

I would take the Book of Luke, because I think it gives a more detail account of His birth, His ministry, His death, His resurrection, and insight into Jesus' ascension into heaven after His resurrection while with the disciples, and the Promise of His return through the power of the Holy Spirit.
