Things should be done in moderation

How about teens’ concentration and focus? That’s not looking great either. The long-running Monitoring the Future survey of 18-year-olds “finds a steep rise in the percent of people struggling to concentrate or learn new things,” Burn-Murdoch tweets.

Teens’ reading habits reflect their shortened attention spans too. The number of U.S. teens who report reading books for leisure has tanked since the early 2010s.

Today, nearly half of teens say they “hardly ever” read books in their leisure time. Fifteen years ago the number was more like 35 percent. (Here’s a deeper dive into what giving up long-form reason does to your brain.)

Are adults doing much better? Burn-Murdoch points to another survey of mathematical reasoning showing the number of adults in a variety of high-income countries who can’t use basic math skills to assess simple statements has climbed 25 percent over the past several decades.

Its like saying that food buffets are the #1 cause of fat people...no the lack of self control is the #1 cause of fat people!

If you often look like the person in the picture (the person that is glued to his or her phone) then take a break every now and then. You do not need to throw your phone in the trash can...just dont let your entire life happen on the internet.

Learn a skill...a lot of information can be learned from watching youtube.

Like it or not, artificial intelligence is coming...but you should not let a.i. direct your life.

You don't want things in excess?

"Drill Baby Drill"

Triple the energy output for A.I.

Yes, the Bible may teach moderation, but not Trump.

Ecclesiastes teaches not to be overly righteous or overly wicked, but to avoid all extremes. Yet, the man who preached that, had 700 wives and 300 concubines. A little extreme.

Here we all spend more time on the internet than we should.

Children now days spend too much time on the internet.

When I was a kid, TV raised the kids. Now internet raises the kids.

Kids are taught from the early months of their lives to be on the internet. Schools want kids to log on to a computer and be on the internet. Now we compete with children of other nations to waste our days on the internet. We are further from the Garden of Eden all the time. I think life was better in the Garden of Eden when we ate fresh fruit from the tree and walked with God in the Garden and gave names to the animals. I would rather have that again than all the technology in the world. What did we gain from knowledge? What did we gain from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil? Life was better when we were innocent. Life was better before the internet. Life was better before sin. We are further from the Garden all the time. There is not much moderation in anything. There is much excess of what we don't need, and not enough of the simple good that we do need.
