a little sermon on = what way do you pray

dear folks, wanna talk a little about the way that you pray tonight.

matthew 6:7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

alot of christian folks today have lost their will to pray simply because they have never had their prayers answered .. so they get discouraged and stop prayin altogether... unless something really bad happens in their life then like all of us we pray hard and try to get closer to GOD at them times.. ya know.. seems like when things are goin smoothe in our lives we tend to forget to pray as much..we put off its importance and tend to forget to continue drawing closer to GOD cause we got it goin on hehe.. we doin alright on our own .. we dont need no help.. we forget to thank HIM when things are goin smoothly..

now if you are one of the folks thats never had your prayers answered definitively ... and are maybe finding yourself gettin a little discouraged.. id like to remind you of a little sumin.. its not enuff to just be sincere or persistent but yet we must have a proper attitude and motive when we pray..

matthew 6:5-7 5 "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

see JESUS is teachin us here that when we pray we are not to pray just to be heard by others and to be prayin wantin to be praise by others ... see weve all been taught all our life to seek approvall... as children we are taught to seek our parents approval,, and as we go to school we are taught to seek the approval of our teachers ,, and in our adult lives we are taught to seek approval of our bosses and our co workers.. friends family etc... and in our christian life we tend to forget that JESUS teaches us otherwise as not to do or pray things just to be approved of or seek others praise for the works and deeds we do... JESUS tells us not to pray or do our good works just to be seekin praise from others around us..

see JESUS says they will get their reward but not near as much as those who do the things for the right reasons.. not seekin mans approval or praise.. but seeking the rewards and praises from GOD .. folks there are alot of really great prayer warriors here on the site and in our churches and all around us... and for those that have prayers answered definitivly all of them have their hearts and the minds and their motives in the right place.... not seeking mans praises and approvals.. but seeking to glorify the FATHER by asking for things in the SONS name....

john 14:13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

the motives behind our prayers are very important.. when we pray our purpose should be to bring honor and glory to GOD. instead of seeking personal glory and gratification for our own selfish desires. how do you pray? in what manner? do you want to recieve the blessings of answered prayers? then get your motives right.. and remember you dont have to beg.. as we are the children of the KING .. just ask properly.. for the right reasons within your hearts.... and may GODS will be done..

may GLORY BE TO GOD!!!!!!!!
