It's not the questions you ask but the person you are, just be yourself some questions are answered by the persons conduct and character, pre formulating a list won't help it'll just hem you in to one mode of thought, "get the list done", however it does help to have some talking points that are a kind of meeting point for the culture you are in, in the UK it's the big brother tv show or a popular soap, it gives you something that is low level commitment whilst you figure out if there is a connection.
in answer to your question a good rule of thumb is keep the questions to safe subjects until you can ask the intimate question of "so do we sit together in the sermon or is it the back row again ??"

Girls want to know that you are interested in what they have to say and are making an effort to connect with them. When they answer a question, show interest by asking one or two further questions based on their response. This will not only show that you are truly listening to what they have to say, but will also give you a good idea if they are the kind of person you want to pursue.
I am not an expert but I can imagine how hard might be for a guy start a "nice" or "interesting" talk with a girl when you are trying to do your best. You need to know that we (as girls) get nervous as well (even though we don't look like).
I think that God makes his part but we have to do ours... so, be yourself, keep calm don't be nervous and pay attention of what she is saying, listen carefully so she can notice that you are interested, then you can ask according to her answers or opinions.
