Women's modern dress ethic continues to descend from modest to what was once seriously taboo. A man trying to keep his thoughts pure is confronted with soft core porn leggings nearly everywhere he looks especially in the city. A man can hardly avoid this ubiquitous pornographic dress in his peripheral vision even if he strains to maintain direct eye contact with an immodestly dressed woman. A man might turn his head to the east to avoid live porn on the west only face another live porn. Sorry ladies if referring to such dress as porn offends you, perhaps you might want to research the evolution of pornography.
Ever watch tv news reports hosted by man and woman anchors? Usually the man is dressed conservatively in suit and tie while the woman anchor is dressed sleeveless, low cut and sometimes cross legged--because her skirt is so short. Has anyone considered what it would look like if the male anchor showed up in a sleeveless low cut outfit in a crouch hugging skirt or in tight fitting leggings???!! yeah gross right?

Cupcakeme, it's ok to agree with someone, in this case jayzee. But don't you remember from critical thinking class, a child would raise its hand to agree with a statement from another child, the teacher would affirm the students right to agree but would encourage the student to state **why** agreement was decided. For example: I agree with jayzee because______and tell us why. All I'm trying to do is encourage you to think independently and fact based so you can avoid the appearance of simple follower-ship.

Jayzeee, you can't offer a viable counter argument by attacking my age or me personally . This is known as irrational thinking in logic texts. Personal attacks only expose the inherent weaknesses of your position. I offered several facts that you continue to ignore in your posts. I would gladly help you formulate a better argument and l don't mind assisting the opposition with thought development

I Timothy 2:9,10: I also want women to dress **MODESTLY**, with **DECENCY**and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
Of course only about 50 percent of women in the USA dress with decent modestly so Christian men must follow God's Word on looking at a women who is not dressed modestly!!
2 Corinthians 10:5: We take captive **EVERY THOUGHT** and make it obedient to Christ!!
Romans 13:14: Clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and **DO NOT THINK** about how to satisfy the desires of the sinful nature!
Matthew 22:37,38: Jesus says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with **ALL YOUR MIND**!! This is the first and **GREATEST** commandment!!"

Cupcakeme, of course we're not in school now but purpose of schooling was to prepare you to think in adulthood. The Bible also commands us to think biblically. We don't believe something just because someone else does. See 1John4:1-5. But since you ignore the verses on modesty and decency, I suppose you'll ignore this verse in 1John too.

Well I'm going to chime in here.
How this descended into a shameful, unchristian display of poop-throwing is beyond me. Calling someone "clueless" is uncalled for. Firing back in a flesh-driven way is also wrong. And, the only one speaking for passionless reason to take over is the guy who likewise slaps his fellow christians around as "sheeple" because they do not follow the same, hard, rigid path he does.
With as much calmness and Christian love as I can muster, this is my take on this topic: Christian women ought not to dress provocatively. Period. In no way do I advocate the insanity of Sharia law, but at the same time Christian women need to hold up cultural trends in the light of Scripture when it comes to dress.
But, we should expect nothing less from the world when we see women dressed in form-fitting clothes. Thing is, women (and I believe this is programmed into them by God) want to be seen as beautiful and they want to be desired. But, their sinful nature infects and distorts that need.
What can we, as Christian men, do about this? Nothing. All we can do is pray for control to not stare. That's pretty much it. Ask for the Holy Spirit's continued sanctification so that, over time, our sensibilities grow and our tastes and desires change. I can say that God's done some things in me to minimize my lustfulness. There are things that turn people on in the world that no longer have the same impact on me. This is ENTIRELY God. (For example, porn holds almost no temptation for me.) My suggestion is, if you're not doing it already, seek God for improved sanctifying in your desires, tastes, etc. Maybe also ask Him to remove any demonic influences in your life as well that may be fanning those flames. I think that's all any of us can do.

I think you're right Keith, I probably shouldn't have used the word "clueless", got to thinking about that later. I know debate can get energetic and passionate. But I'm not sure it must always be polite. Certain bad reasoning must be called out forcfulky. Jesus, prophets and others didn't excactly use kind words when discussing with certain people but not with others. I guess one should be discerning in each situation.
