He shows how it would have happened and the results that we see today. His theory explains where comets and meteors came from. Why they are finding water on the moon. Most people have heard of DNA, but not the mathematics involved in looking at it in terms of probability. I will simplify the math and use the statement that humans and chimps are only different in 1000 places on the Mt DNA chain that is also in a cell along with the DNA chain that is in the nucleus. I will ignore the problems with that study.
A DNA chain is made up of nucleotides and there are four different ones named A, G, T, and C. This means that at each place on the chain there are four possibilities as to the nucleotide that will be there. At the second point we find have sixteen possible combinations (4x4). So here we go.

To make it simple we will round off the 1024 to 1000 which can be written as 10 to the 3rd power. As we keep going we find that the pattern repeats itself.

Rounding 1,024,000 to 1,000,000 we now have 10 to the 6th power. Every time we add a 5th nucleotide we add 3 zeros. This will happen 200 times in a DNA chain (1,000 divided by 5). Multiplying 200 times 3 gives us 600. The number of possible combinations in a DNA chain 1,000 nucleotides long is 10 to the 600th power. This is the number one followed by 600 zeros.
If we built a machine that tried the combinations at the rate of one trillion times per second for 30 billion years we would only have tried 10 to the 30th power combinations. (The number of seconds in 30 billion years is around 10 to the 18th power and one trillion is 10 to the 12 power.) Since this is a one followed by 30 zeros. It is obvious that in 30 billion years we couldn't even come close to trying all the combinations possible in this DNA chain. Also, this DNA chain would probably be a protein and nowhere near something that is alive. Note that our universe is claimed to be only around 8 to 16 billion years old. (I believe that it is really less that 10,000 years old).
If the chain was 2000 nucleotides long we would have a one followed by 1200 zeros. "Nature" would not have had time to try out combinations for evolution.
If our universe was packed solid with electrons, it would only hold 10 to the 130th power.
