Merry Christmas!Posted : 23 Apr, 2024 04:25 AMThe birth of Jesus was real. His birth was celebrated in the Bible, and we should be celebrate that birth as well. Some say 365 days a year. The Bible never gives the exact date. The date that Catholics give his birth is likely off. Some scholars site "While shepherds kept their watch by night". When Pharaoh celebrated his birthday, the baker lost his head. (Genesis 40:20-22) Herod's birthday, a damsel danced for him. Herod was so pleased, he offered her up to half his kingdom. The girl should have taken half his kingdom. Instead, she forever after had to live with her choice of John the Baptists head. (Matthew 14:6-11 and Mark 6:21-28) At Jesus birth, there was Rachel in Ramah weeping because her children were no more. (Matthew 2:18) The birth of Jesus, every male child to years old and under was slaughtered by Herod as King Herod did not want to share the throne with any other king. (Matthew 2:1-20) So even the celebration of Jesus' birth is associated with death. Pharaoh and Herod knew how to celebrate birthdays. Yes, Merry Christmas! |
