I found this while checking out some Christian sites. I wonder how many had this conversation. Enjoy.

At Last Honesty

God: Whats the matter?

Me: Im lonely!

God: I know! Dont you think I know that?

Me: Yes Lord.

God: Then whats the problem?

Me: Im lonely.

God: What do you want?

Me: (Repressing the honest answer I speak:) I want what you want Lord.

God: You have it.

Me: (dead silence)

God: Something is still bothering you. What is it?

Me: Im alone.

God: Why is that a problem?

Me: Im not happy.

God: And why not?

Me: I dont want to be alone.

God: You said you wanted what I wanted.

Me: Yes Lord.

God: You have it.

Me: (silence)

God: Isnt that what you wanted?

Me: (at last honesty) No Lord.

God: Then you do not want what I want?

Me: I do, but I also want to be married. I also want what I want.

God: The problem is not your desire to be married. That is a good desire.

The problem is that you expect that I should give you

what you want when you want and how you want.

If a sparrow does not fall without my knowledge...

If I dress the lilies in such splendor...

If I cloth the grass of the field which so quickly withers...

Do you imagine I have forgotten you...my beloved?

I have not forgotten you...do not worry.

God: You are still troubled...why?

Me: Im lonely.

God: (gently) I know.

I will pray for you and others like you. You request appears to be sincere and I can understand why. It is difficult for men in ministry because the enemy always sends forth temptations to distract you because his goal is to have you fall from grace and to have others fall with you. I do understand how a godly wife, praying, fasting and encouraging would help to strengthen you and ultimately keep you from a crooked path. Allow the joy of the Lord to be your strength. I do not know what God's will for your life is, only what the Word of God says and he said in his word that he would be a present help in time of trouble. Look to the hills from whence cometh your help, your help comes from the Lord who created Heaven and Earth.

May God strengthen, bless and keep you
