What lies behind the mask

I recently had a friendship with someone who would not reveal his face to me...It threw up all kinds of flags...Tell me now, why wouldn't a guy show his face but keep saying he would or keep breaking dates but said he wanted to meet...Do you feel he was hiding something major...Just curious. I broke it off before becoming too involved.

That's a hard one to answer. Perhaps he was shy? Or insecure about how he looks? Maybe he was a married man and was hiding something?

Unfortunately, most of the reasons I can come up with bode ill for a potential relationship, so I think you were wise in moving on.



I preffer people to be straightforward and honest. I would imagine you do as well.

That's a great question! Masks will never serve a purpose

yet so many people grow comfortable wearing them. I can't

speak for all men, and some men may disagree with me. That's OK.



Perhaps, this will offer a valid answer and insight.



Behind the mask of a man you may find:



1. An insecure child who secretly desires the unconditional

respect of the woman he loves.



2. A prideful/stubborn child who doesn't know how to ask

for help.



3. A fearful child who is emotionally frozen and unable

to render deep expressions of love and affection.



Naturally, I have included myself in the example when

in my pre-Christ days wore masks of all sorts even

when I didn't intentionally put one on. Until the Light

comes in, you just don't really know how much dark

there is in your heart and soul.



Please know my answers aren't the only ones nor set in stone, but many men do worry about measuring up,

being able to provide for their family, and being the leader God has designed men to be.
