At 62, God willing, I figure I have at least 20+ years and I want to make sure that those years count regarding serving my Lord. I am back in the states now two years after having served overseas, sent by my church. It was beyond rewarding. I loved the people, the culture, etc., and would be honored to serve again in like capacity.
I am back in the corporate world now though and enjoying it. I do enjoy working long days and trying to make a difference in the work itself and in the lives of those with whom I come in contact. It is a privilege.
As for interests...I have always played sports and exercised so I enjoy those. I ran long distance for years but I have since transitioned to the elliptical due to injuries. I go to the gym for weight lifting, etc. I love watching the NFL and NCAA basketball. This is my time of year. Soaking it in.
As for my Christian faith, I am from a Protestant, conservative, evangelical background. I believe that voicing/acknowledging these distinctions is important for building a relationship. I have studied at seminary for 50+ credits. Due to family situations, I didn't get to finish but perhaps some day. I love theology and apologetics.
I am very politically conservative and passionate about our country and our future.
I have always loved the simple things. Great conversation, talking over coffee, walks on the beach or in the mountains, great authors, great books, etc.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I love animals. I always have. And while overseas I got involved in rescuing dogs and cats as the situation is so dire. I started an NGO over there and we hope to make a significant impact. I brought back two dogs and a cat. They bring so much joy...
