Ie smokers, drinkers, I'll start it off myself, to set the bar. I say "absolutely not" if she's white, and more than five years either side of my own age Post Reply

Like if he sincerely doesn't like his own family, and says bad things about them (not okay), or if he doesn't like my family and says bad things about them (even more not okay!). I love my family, and I spend a lot of time with them. Not only is the way a man treats my family important, but I also need to know that they like him. If my family really doesn't like him, sheesh... how could I spend my life with someone that the people I love most can't stand??? Though they're not absolutely nots, I also don't like smoking, and I don't like guys that take themselves too seriously. Post Reply

Posted : 12 Feb, 2010 09:19 AM I will say Absolutely No to: Smokers (unless they are quiting by their own choice) If he isn't not family friendly (lol thats sounds like a dog being family friendly) If he doesn't like to travel If he doesn't like pets (cats and dogs..etc) If he is disrespectful If he won't let me have my space when I want it. (like girl time with my friends) If he is not excepting of how my faith is currently ( I am currently working on my relationship with God and I have had many people, not necessarily people on here...although there have been a few, say that I'm not a true Catholic/Christian because I don't go to church weekly or go to confession. Everyone needs to understand that building your faith and trust in the Lord takes time and when I do go to church it's because I want to be there...not because I think its required of me by my religion and church. I hope that last one made sense.....lol I would prefer a guy that is going to college or has a desire to learn a skill of sorts. This is not a requirement. I myself am taking a year off of school so I understand those who can't be in school. But I do plan to go back to school in the near future here. I just want someone who has desire and ambition in life. If he wants to work at McDonalds and work towards a long term career there then I would be happy with that. Just as long as he has a strive to want to know more and learn more and be more. And also..He MUST live in the USA I am not going to movie to India (no offense to those reading) to date/marry a guy Sorry...just my preference lol ok i hope this helps! :) God Bless Post Reply

Posted : 12 Feb, 2010 06:34 PM Hey man, I don't think you should feel uncomfortable with stating your reasons for "absolutely not". I know black men who say they rather date or marry a white woman than a black woman for the same reasons you stated in a previous post. As for myself, I absolutely don't want to date or marry a Jamaican. Even if he has a green card or becomes a US citizen before marriage. Although born in the UK, mother is from Jamaica, does this make me self racist? No I think not. Its just my preference, my choice. Now God can take my will and conform it to His will and I may end up marrying a Jamaican straight "off the boat" and he in turn would be the best husband ever! Only God knows. Post Reply

He needs to be involved somehow in the church, using his giftings, compassion for the lost. Absolutely not if he's a flirt or has alot of women friends. Absolutely no sex b4 marriage and dont like the suggestions, either. It's NO! Absolutely not be wavering in his faith and walk with God.
