...about how you present yourself on sites like these and others.

1. Do not crop your pics to where it cuts off half of your body, show all of yourself

2. Do not hold your camera above your head, the camera isnt like the eye and even though it makes for a good picture its not what you look like normally so please dont do it. :)

3. Wear light colored clothing so that it reflects the light better, dont use dark clothing to hide your flaws, thats just dishonest. If a man likes you well enough and you have parts of your body that arent very attractive said man will overlook that.

4. Dont photoshop, or get artsy with your pics, just be real.

5. If you are an lady who isnt a spring chicken any more, dont put a picture of you from your glory days, as a profile pic, thats just plain dishonest.

6. Not directly related, but for this site and for the love of God and your Chistian brothers completly conceal your"girls" away, we can concentrate on being pure more if we dont see the objects of our sensual desire. Proverbs 11:22

The reason I say this is too many women present themselves as something other than what they truly are and sometimes, in my case, it is less than what I desire when i finally see them as they are. When that happens there is a severe backlash because I withdrawl, and it doesn't matter how well the conversation, or connection was. ok rant off

I've seen you all over the forum, bg, and you are very funny! I've really enjoyed reading your posts.

As for the OP, consider me a romantic, but I'm far more interested in the content of the profile than the pictures attached. It is human nature to want to present yourself in a good light, and I don't see a problem with posting a picture from a flattering angle in attractive clothing. Naturally a true to life photo is a must...but I believe that everything you listed would apply just as much to the men's photos as the women. I've seen just as many men with convenient camera angles as ladies, so I don't really think it's gender specific :)

That being said, I am a big proponent of the full body photo--everyone should have at least one. Nobody wants to be mislead, after all. And the person doing the posting needs to consider that it isn't just the first impression that matters...I can imagine that meeting up with someone who expects an entirely different person would be quite embarrassing for everyone involved.

lol its alright to be "chronologically advanced", but dont hide it with a younger pic of self lol. I actually had that happen, and than when I found the truth out I had to let the poor girl down, by telling she wasnt what i was looking for.

Drat...ya mean that my profile picture that took three different photo editing programs isn't just fabulous? And here I thought it was a nice picture of me! :boxing:

The others are ok, though, right? I guess I probably should update them...they are over a year old now. :dunce: :goofball:

One thing that really bothers me, no offense young(er) ladies...

If you take an above-the-neck angle-down shot, be aware that the most obvious feature is your chest. It's a myspace 15-year old styled photoshot. Men are men, if you post a picture of yourself with a low cut shirt and the camera lookin' down...no matter how Christian a man is, he'll at least do a split-second glance at the goods.

Modesty is key personally. Wear some nice clothes, that actually cover more than a one-piece and dukes+skimpy tank, and take a full-body shot. If you're not comfortable with your body in real clothes, how can you ever expect to feel attractive when you need to let him see you half-naked on the first date?

Like someone previously said...if he really likes you, he won't care about the photos; he'll look but he will see past imperfection to see a Godly woman who is completely comfortable with who she is in every respect. Hopefully, the guy is mature enough to know he's not perfect either and that you're looking past his physical features to see the whole picture too.

Well it matters when there is intentional or unintentional deception and manipulation of a pics on a profile to look better than you are in real time its a lie. And its a lie that will have a serious backlash no matter how good of rapport you have established with the man. ats why I normally want to see them on cam, if long distance, so i can tell if im going to meet what i percieved.
