CDFF is advertising a dating website called herway.com where only women can search a initiate contact to men. What do ya'll think about such an idea?

It does seem a bit backwards. Almost like it caters to a certain kind of woman who prefers to take the lead. But if all she has to do is initiate maybe it doesn't preclude the man leading from there. It would probably filter out a lot of the noise on her part.

Irrespective of all that, it is a really creative site design. The comic theme is unique and very approachable. Points for that at least.

It has been my experience that the women who usally initiate contact to me are the ones im normally not interested in.

There's a general pattern of that, sure, but there's also a general pattern of guys who email girls being the ones those girls aren't interested in. I have a date Tuesday with a girl I met from OKCupid though who messaged me first. I took it from the computer to the phone, and from the phone to meeting in real life though, which I consider to be much more important in pursuit than just who messages who first.

@Tulip

I wonder if there is a way to hold men who send nasty emails and what not accountable, like women could have there own section call pervs and list their names, and what they said etc, that way woomen would no to stay away from them, after all this is a Christian website those type of men need to go else where...just a thought anyways.

I think they generally just report them and they get kicked off. I'm sure they also get messages from people who are too far away or not interested in much of the same stuff, etc., like guys do.

I see nothing wrong with women initiating conversations/friendships w/ the opposite sex. And I haven't check out this site (haven't seen the ad. -- I block them)... But, it would seem to me from the description that it encourages men to be passive. It just doesn't seem like a good model for how real life Biblical relationships should work.

I met my honey on a Facebook group for Christian singles. We both regularly participated in forum discussions. And I thought he seemed like a great guy and someone I would like to know better, so I sent him a friend request. We became good friends and things progressed from there. While I was very much attracted to him this entire time, though, I did not initiate anything beyond friendship. He was the one who expressed the desire to not keep things platonic any longer and I'm trying to let him continue to lead as far as the whole romantic pursuit thing goes.

@Tulip you crack me up! Best blessings on your date!

I think the web site you are talking about is one of those designed to make women feel "safe". I've also heard of dating services where the man can only ask a woman out if she approves of him. The men make the contact, and the women get to choose who they date. Some services also make it free for women, and only men have to pay. My understanding is these things are designed to make women feel safe.

At any rate ----- I prefer having the option of initiating or receiving a contact. Just my personal preference.

Thanks guys! It's rare that I meet a girl whose personality I click with like this, so we'll see if I really end up liking her as much as I think I will.
