Do you judge people by their...Posted : 7 Oct, 2010 08:05 AMThere are some user names that I don't understand at all, and others that express something about their personality that makes me think things probably wouldn't work between us. I'll still read their profile and talk to them if they're interested, but to me, reading a profile name can be as telling as seeing someone walk up in plaid pants, with a pocket protector, slide rule, and bow tie. I might be mistaken about their personality, but probably not. Same with profile pictures. They say a lot about a person, whether it's intentional or not. (I tend to look at the background in the picture. Are they by their car or motorcycle? With a pet? With another person? In a messy room? At the office? All of these say certain things.) |

Do you judge people by their...Posted : 7 Oct, 2010 12:54 PMI met a guy on here with an interesting username...not a red-flag sort of name, but one that just really seemed like it should have a story behind it. I finally asked him about it. He wouldn't tell me, because he said it would be much more fun and interesting for me and him if he sent me on a Google scavenger hunt. So, he gave me a few clues (I already knew his full name at that point), and told me to let him know when I figured it out! Turned out that there WAS an interesting story behind his username, and by figuring that out, I learned a lot about this guy and his interests. |
