Posted : 17 Aug, 2010 06:35 AM Ihave noticed that alot of women keep mentioning that they want a confident man to be an interest if thiers. The question is what can a guy do once he has the confidence, just that he is still learning on how to show that to people in all of his manners. (like good body posture, or wakling with a certain swagger, etc). Post Reply

A confident person knows who they are...not arrogant or self absorbed because that is in the brain...confidence is in the heart. They dont have to try and impress anyone or prove anything.(it comes from the Lord) I think when we have that confidence on the inside, it will show on the outer as well. I have been out with men who needed constant affirmation and that's exhausting. Imagine being married to someone like that, our whole lives would be about HIM and HIS feelings. Let ME be the emotional one!!! :) but also...i believe that characteristic can be brought out in anyone if they go after it. (with God of course) Post Reply

Posted : 19 Aug, 2010 08:33 PM Comeandlive, I really don't understand your jumps in logic. Sarge said he was confident but wanted to know how to show it in his body language. I suggested studying the body language of James Bond, the guys in Oceans 11, etc. Then you declared that idolatry. Where in the bible does it say anything about body language? On top of that, you can't just say that learning how to relate to women isn't a skill set simply because that's your opinion. From personal experience, I can absolutely guarantee you that it's a skill that can be learned. Post Reply

But to sympathize, I agree that with direction and application, certain characteristics such as confidence can be conveyed more easily and consistently, which may aid in matters dealing with the opposite sex. I however was just pointing out that rather than trying to PORTRAY yourself as more confident by mimicking body language, try to BE more confident by knowing yourself in Christ. Thats all man. Posted : 20 Aug, 2010 09:01 AM godslamb makes a good point about how everybody wants confidence. Lack of confidence in a woman is probably just as unattractive as lack of confidence in a guy. On a side note, I have thought to myself plenty of times that a woman would be more attractive if she had better posture. It's interesting how we're so convinced that men and women are completely different, but when you pay attention you start to see that we really aren't that different from each other. Post Reply

I guess I think of the term confidence in a more base standard. For instance If someone knows he's honest, and poses the question of how to appear more honest then the answer is simple: be honest! haha. Theres no shortcut in circular logic. But I most definitely agree, this argument was better left in the hands of the women. Post Reply
