One or two on occasion?

Hello! Its a lil' disappointing when the photos are clickin and the words are like wow :excited: and then.. I read that she drinks 1 or two on occasion. Speaking of Christian profiles primarily. Don't get me wrong for me it just dulls the shine. So, my question is why drink in the first place? I just can't make the connection between a beautiful woman of God and a drink "every now & again". Just always been a lil' disappointing for me is all. Not really looking for any responses I guess It was just needful for me to say.. Not one of us are perfect I know and.. wouldn't it be awesome if Jesus were to come back in this generation!!?? In OUR lifetime?? Those of us who are living according to the Word of God will be instantaneously transformed into our new heavenly bodies. God bless everyone!

Brother.

We must let our truth reflect the word of God.

Does this allow for our biased peeves that are not scripturally founded to be broadcast on a public forum?

Having a drink is not sin. God has made that perfectly clear. He also said that older women should not be given to "much" wine . Getting drunk or being a slave to ANY addiction is the sin sir..

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary

Titus 2:1-8

Old disciples of Christ must behave in every thing agreeably to the Christian doctrine. That the aged men be sober; not thinking that the decays of nature will justify any excess; but seeking comfort from nearer communion with God, not from any undue indulgence.

Faith works by, and must be seen in love, of God for himself, and of men for God's sake. Aged persons are apt to be peevish and fretful; therefore need to be on their guard.

Though there is not express Scripture for every word, or look, yet there are general rules, according to which all must be ordered. Young women must be sober and discreet; for many expose themselves to fatal temptations by what at first might be only want of discretion. The reason is added, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Failures in duties greatly reproach Christianity.

Young men are apt to be eager and thoughtless, therefore must be earnestly called upon to be sober-minded: there are more young people ruined by pride than by any other sin. Every godly man's endeavour must be to stop the mouths of adversaries.

Let thine own conscience answer for thine uprightness. What a glory is it for a Christian, when that mouth which would fain open itself against him, cannot find any evil in him to speak of!

I understand what you mean Prov356. I often wonder the same thing when reading a Gents profile. Common interests as the Lord being 1st and then other interests or activities that could be the beginning of a awsome relationship in Christ and then reading they drink or smoke...:glow:

Yes...not one person is perfect and all fall short of the mark...however...the LORD has given His very Life's blood to recover us into the light and unto the Father...He also has given us all a way out of the darkness...

Gods continued blessings to you and yours... xo

P. S....love the pic of the lil dog. Precious!!!

I'm not so sure that this is an "ask a girl" thing.

All foods are clean (Mark 7). Jesus drank (Matt 26 - note the use of the word again). At the same time, getting drunk is not the way to go (Galatians 5).

Seems to me that having a drink every now and again doesn't violate God's word in and of itself, and that these women you've mentioned who say they do so don't deserve dismissal on that count.

What is it you are implying Jude?

Those that have a glass of wine or cocktail occasionally are in darkness and not in the full glory of his light??

God is more concerned with a persons motives and the true nature of their heart.

I dont advocate drunkenness . I also dont advocate hitting below the belt. Your statement here sounds along the lines of something a zealot would say

Bloodnok you are correct. This wasnt a question that prov put forth but rather an opportunity to pass judgement and make his OPINION known. It was classless.

God is going to deal harshly with religious types. The christian community are tearing each other apart these days and Im quite dismayed by this.

We all need to strive for holiness both in mind and body but those who feel the need to tear others down based on their OPINIONS and not based on scripture ,are out of line.

*** I should have been more clearer. I apologize sometimes when thinking and typing the thought doesnt get to my fingers. My thought at the time was of those that have an issue...(personal or other) with alcohol. He also has given us all a way out of darkness is based on this Scripture

1 Cor 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

*** It is a common thing for man/women to drink alcohol. This Scripture applied to the (issues personal or other ) is most Powerful

Shared ~ Those that have a glass of wine or cocktail occasionally are in darkness and not in the full glory of his light??

*** No not at allyou say thatI said what I said

Shared ~ God is more concerned with a persons motives and the true nature of their heart.

*** Very true!!!...I didnt mention a persons motives or true nature of their heart. I will say I dont judge or abhor the drinker. I do abhor the sin it leads to and this why. In the beginning Genesis in the 9th chapter is the first recorded incident with wine

Gen 9:21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

*** Noah who found MUCH favor in the site of God drank wine and we read here what happens. It isnt recorded how much he drank or how often, however this is not where I can fill in the gaps with my own reasoning to convince me it is ok to do this. So in the beginningthere is a problem

Shared ~ I dont advocate drunkenness. I also dont advocate hitting below the belt. Your statement here sounds along the lines of something a zealot would say

*** God doesnt advocate Drunkenness nor hitting below the belt either. That is not my intention nor my hearts motive. If a person wants to call me a zealot for aligning my beliefs with Gods Word so be it for I am a Fool for Christ. :o) I will proclaim His Word and I will not be ashamed!!! If a person perceives or takes what I post personal then I pray they will reread it, pray and ask the Holy Spirit of the LORD why they have?

Gods Blessings and Grace to all X <>< O

Jesus Christ drank 1 or 2 cups of wine occasionally.

According to the women on here, He would not be worth messaging. It's their loss.

*** Would you mind providing Biblical Scripture to confirm this...I've truely not found any...

*** Ha Ha...All people are worth contacting silly...I speak for my self here...I desire and prefer a non-drinker or smoker to be my mate.

I've not Lost the LORD and He contacted me First...

Jhn 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Jesus observed the biblical feasts every year. He broke bread and poured wine for the disciples. He also turned large amounts of water in to wine for a celebration.

The grape vine is good. In fact, it's symbolic of Jesus and His people. The Father planted the vine (Jesus) and the fruits on the vine are His people.

What if someone drank a single glass of red wine every night with a meal? Since red wine has been scientifically been proven to be healthy, you could potentially stop a life-long friend from contacting you.

Matthew 26:29

But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

^ Biblical proof, the word of God, that Jesus Christ drank alcohol. Of course He isn't a drunkard.

I don't see the health benefits from smoking, that's fair enough.
