OK women, what's your very favorite children's Christmas program memory?

I have a friend who's kindergarten class dutifully filed up front and began to sing their song about the star. Then they each displayed a large cardboard letter and spelled, "RATS".

Brought the house down.

I don't know if it's my favorite memory, but it's a fresh memory! This morning at church, the children's choir did their little Christmas program...the preschoolers came out all dressed like sheep, cows, and donkeys (they were SO cute). They sang their precious little song, then were supposed to file off stage through the back door. Three of them left right on time, then two more followed a little more slowly. That left two little cows on stage who were totally oblivious to the fact that they were the ONLY ones still there. I guess they were enthralled with the manger scene, Christmas trees, and fake snow. Either that, or they were just petrified at being in front of the whole church! Anyway, one of the donkeys finally had to come back and practically drag those two cows off stage. The congregation was having a really hard time not too loudly (the older children were doing their speaking lines during this episode). I, on the other hand, was behind the piano where no one could see or hear me, and I was so hard I was crying! As a whole, the kids' program was really good...probably one of the best I've seen in a long time. :applause:

Not so much a favorite, but in this Christmas season of celebrating!!

Well at church yesturday, the childrens choir sang. I think it was this Christmans song.Three singers in front of the choir, each individually singing a verse of the song.

The first girl, sang the first verse beautifully, without error. The audience applauded. Then the second child, a boy, proceeded to sing the second verse. Well he forgot part of the lyrics, (of course the director was standing behind him and kindly whispered to his forgotten portion of the verse). He frowned and his face revealed embarrassment. Well he kept going, and the audience applauded him louder than the first child. Then the 3rd child, a little girl, proceeded with the last verse. She too, forgot some of her verse midstream (the director touched the child in comfort and support) but then continued, and smiled. The audience applauded still.

It was so moving for me to see the little ones at least trying to serve God with thier little voices in praise to God during this season. A wonderful and touching thing to see them want to, afraid, stand before people and give there best. Even though they had a few hiccups in there performance, they still stood proudly and accepted there props at the end. Very proud of them.

when i was in high school, i was the 1st & 2nd grade sunday school teacher. I had two 2nd graders. At our church, the children would recite a sentence or two. This boy Collin, asked if he could bring a bell as his verse referred to a bell. i said he could. that night at the program, he told me that his mom had said he had to be very careful and not have any noice - accidental ringing from the bell during the service. He was so good and hung onto that bell.. then he gave his recite and did ring the bell. It was so precious that he obeyed his parents and so dedicated that he never accidently made a noise from that bell doing the whole program. Oh, i would also call him Collins with a "s" and he asked me why i was adding an s to his name... i didn't even know i was doing it. I have fond memories of being a teacher for those grades.
