how do you convince someone to look past your body shape? i know that we live in a society that is based on image, but i would kind of hope that true christians could look past the physical beauty and see the internal, i just can't figure out how to do that online yet.
Body Image...Hummmm...well...I have this image of Antionio Banderas x with Johnny Depp x with...Whoa......wait a minute...So sorry I was day dreamin...lol...
Well oviously physical looks are important to the beholder. But its the inside stuffin that is really the most important part...Jesus spoke on how we are good at shinein the out side of cup, but do not take much care with the inside...Jesus an GOD look inside, not at the outside and we should do this to...jus some persons jus dont do this...there loss...
As far as on this Grid/Web an bein able to do that...well...ask for wisdom an decernment in your prayers an ima purty sure GOD will help ya with it... :-)
Finding that person that is attracted to you on a deep spiritual level + see's you as somethin to truely behold...is what we are all lookin for...May we all find an recieve the desires of our Hearts...thank you Jesus an Bless you Father...
How to get beyond the Body Image part...its called realisim an it comes with maturity....luv ya all...xo
I don't think convincing is the right term, in this cyber world or even in person ( face to face ) people will always see something in us that would draw them near to us. Whether it's your smile or the way you talk, and so on & so forth.
People are entitled on their own opinion, so it's not easy to just let them like us for who we are. The important thing is you are comfortable and believe in yourself that there is someone out there that will truly love & accept you beyond the body image.
We all hope for the best as we continue our journey in this life of ours. God bless you my dear sister!!!:purpleangel:
You ask a good question. First off I would consider changing your "handle" as "Dramachic" is not something that is going to attract a man but most likely cause him to not even bother reading your profile. People generally are seeking someone without "drama" in their life. Make sense?
As far as the body image. Everyone has different tastes for different reasons. A person can change their body shape "IF" they are willing to eat right and work out properly. It may require a lifestyle change but it will be well worth it.
Why does this matter?
Because when a person is overweight it can affect their health and also causes one to think that there are "inner" issues" that caused them to get to that point in the first place.
Being an athlete the majority of my life I have personally witnessed amazing transformations in the gym with men and women who were determined to change their body shape. It's not a vanity thing, you see it's not just the physical transformation that occurs, it's the inner transformation brought about by dedication, hard work and achieving a goal. A person's self esteem and confidence goes way up. You feel better about yourself. Let me share with you one story I personally observed.
There was a young woman in her 30s that was about 60 lbs overweight. I saw her at Bally's almost every day I was there and observed her dedication, her commitment to making a change. She was also a reasonably attractive woman. After a few months I began to really notice the changes in her shape and face. About one year later the transformation for amazing. So amazing I went up to her one day as she finished working out on the Stairmaster. I told her that I just wanted her to know that I had been watching her throughout the year and admired her dedication and hard work and how it had paid off for her. She just beamed from ear to ear and thanked me. Soon after that we became friends. But not only was her body changed but her face increased with greater beauty because of the loss of weight. She turned out to be rather gorgeous! She also became very outgoing and was able to participate in other activities she was not able to before. Which is another reason why some men prefer women who work out as they can participate in various activities that require someone being in shape so as to keep up. Life is so much more enjoyable when you can get out and be active.
There are lots of programs out there. But the best one I have seen that works is called "Body For Life". go to bodyforlife.com and you can see amazing transformations. You can also buy the book online at Amazon.com for less money. They make one called Body for life for Women as well. If you are in good health and have no medical issues that prohibit you for working out then go for it.
Speaking of working out....I have to hit the bike and do my cardio.
Please consider all I have said. Remember you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!
Thank you guys for your comments. I have to say that a common thing i saw in comments were dealing with being "healthy" and therefore i should loose weight in order to be healthy. I also feel like there is a stipulation that if i am overweight it is because i don't work out and try. for people's information i have taken a BIG step in becoming healthy and I work out daily, but I'm not going to change over night. My reason for writing this initial message was to express my frustration living in a world that is so based on looks. I am working to be healthy, but I personally like myself. I know that goes against everything the media says. I am big, but i have a kick butt personality and i personally think that i am beautiful I just wish other people would take the time to get to know me before passing judgement.
PS my login is Dramachic not because i am a source of drama but because i am a theater geek.
Dramachic1258 is a whole lot better in my opinion than Theatergeek1257! I wondered if you were a theater loving girl...do you prefer musicals, or regular plays? Do you act, direct, work backstage, or enjoy from the audience?
It's great that you are working out regularly. I have always struggled with my weight, so I understand what you are going through. Keep up the good work!
haha thank you for getting it! lol I do a little bit of everything in the theater. I love musicals! :) when i'm not on stage then I'm working costumes and make up! thanks for asking!
